[hotw submission] Sacrificial Temple to the Goddess of the Beautiful Buttocks

So, I met an exile with a cool story a few days ago. This is Paco:


We were having more than a few drinks at the docks, one of these days. Sitting with us were Hagan, Greust, a couple of other exiles, Elreon and Haku. Haku as usual drank too much and started saying that Elreon has gone cuckoo years ago, and that he couldn't understand why we would still invite him to those gatherings, while Elreon kept screaming "I'm not the one who worships trees and ghosts, Haku! You should know its us or them!!"

When Greust offered to take those two home, Hagan asked Paco if he had already shown me his hideout. When I said that I had already seen plenty of hideouts, Paco told me this one was kinda... special.

So as it turns out, Paco had a fling with Zana some time ago.


Back then, in one of those "cuddling in the debris of a fallen ruin" moments, she confided to Paco that she knew the location of a long lost temple to one of the RNGods, more specifically to a RNGoddess. She took him there, and he decided to make it his personal hideout. As they're both quite liberal, Zana and Paco are still very good friends nowadays, and she helps him in managing some of the Temple's features.

"But whats so special about that temple?" -I asked. Paco told me: "It's better if I show you" - and even though he wears a mask (and a freakin scary one) I could swear he was smiling when he said that.

So we went there.


It is the Sacrificial Temple to the RNGoddess of the Beautiful Buttocks.


[Venus Callipyge is the goddess of the beautiful buttocks in roman mythology (it literally means that), but gawd, aren't those female golden statues' buttocks beautiful too!]

He then proceeded to show me the rest of the Temple. It was in very good shape for the most part. Turns out he and Zana had cleaned up almost the entire temple, and all its 3 main rooms looked good. There was an exception, it was the stairwell to the 3rd room, where the ceiling had fallen long ago. There were so many debris and overgrown vegetation there that they could only clear a path through.

I took pictures, so let's take a look. On this first area is the waypoint, the only way to arrive to the Temple:


Here some of the masters have meditation spots, where they pray to the RNGoddess:


Then there is a corridor to the other 2 areas of the temple. We arrive at this small but very symbolic banner area:


As he explained me, the banner on the right symbolizes Life and Beauty (like the buttocks), and signals the way to the room in the right. The banner on the left Symbolizes death, and signals the way to the third room. The banner in the center, which was tattered but strangely wouldnt burn from the flame right below, symbolizes the deathlessness of the exile condition [in sc :P].

So we went to the room in the right. Here Paco has some odd versions of the workbenches I had seen so many times, connected between them and to some outside device, which according to him get more favour from the RNGods when enchanting or crafting items.


"Why?", I asked. He told me the answer was in the last room. We went there. The way to it was nothing like the rest of the temple. This is where the ceiling had fallen long ago:

We get to the entrance to the last room, he calls it the sacrificial room. I was beginning to understand:


These weakened exiles, including the mother w/ the baby, were next in line. This is where Paco & Zana make human sacrifices to the RNGoddess of the Beautiful Buttocks.


I was amazed at the piles of riches these two had in here. There literally are piles of gold on his stash. As it turns out, they sacrifice 6 exiles for every map they use on the map device, to please the RNGoddess. This results in favour from the RNGoddess, which in turn translates into those riches there and into enhanced crafting benches.


I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it. That guy is killin weaker exiles, and he is literally swimming in gold!

True, would definitely prefer if the character would stay on top of the tombstones. Still, thats barely noticeable while zoomed out/walking. I chose to overlook that bcause I think the floor looks rly cool like this. Also, I do enjoy the fact that I can dive into that pile of treasure like uncle scrooge ^^

very cute hideout, reminds me of the castle levels from prince of persia game from 1989. very nostalgic!
