[HotW Submission] Hero's Respite (Lore friendly)

Spoiler

Upon entering the hideout you are welcomed by a warm light cast by the nearby pillars and the waypoint. The stash and guild stash are easily accessible and do not block movement around them. (Note, torches were set up in anticipation of there being a nighttime option for Tora’s hideout. I am still waiting for this feature). You notice that the outside of the hideout is lined with palisades, preventing external access to would-be invaders and monsters.

Spoiler

We make our way to a shrine where Leo and Vagan stand, side by side, as if they are paying respects. This shrine is dedicated to the paragons of Wraeclast, the masters of Agility, Spellcraft, and Vigor (Dex, Int, and Str). You can see Leo and Vagan praying to these paragons to watch over them during their next battles. (Note: Vagan’s idle animation also includes him bowing, adding to the “praying” theme).

Spoiler

Just over the wall we see Catarina overlooking some graves. It’s natural that Catarina would find it more appealing to be with the dead than with the living and this time is no exception. Seeing the reverence to the dead that the hero offers brings a smile to Catarina’s face. We see 3 graves, a grave marked with a sword, a long-lost partner of the hero, a grave marked with a flower, a long-lost lover, and an unmarked grave, presumably reserved for the hero when that time comes. A chair is set aside for Catarina and for when the hero wishes to pay respects to the dead.

Spoiler

To the left we see Elreon teaching his new students on the opposite side of the hideout as Haku. Because of his strong dislike of Haku for having different religious beliefs, Elreon is only willing to remain here so long as he can remain as far away from Haku as possible. We can see banners with crosses located nearby helping emphasize his passion for his religion.

Spoiler

Here we can see Vorici tinkering away at his crafting table. Nearby is a rack of fish caught from the river to help feed the residents of the hideout. Other crafting benches can be seen nearby such as the sharpening stone with nearby unsharpened swords and the blessing font. The barricaded waterfall helps to prevent any injuries from falling objects such as rocks and other debris that can float down the river.

Spoiler

Down near the bottom of the hideout we see the armorers workbench with anvil and other accompanying tools lining the mountainside. Here is where Tora works on constructing new bows for exiles and a place of solitude from the other masters. A nearby tent is set up for the hero to rest in after a long day of adventuring.

Spoiler

Opposite of Elreon lies Haku teaching his students the Karui Way. Nearby banners of nature can be seen as well. The students may not look like much now but when Haku is finished with these exiles, they’ll become fearsome and honorable warriors.

Spoiler

Like any good hideout, there needs to be guards on duty at all times to ensure that no unwelcome guests are around. These statues, courtesy of the Gemling Queen, offer their services to the hero and the other masters. Walls that match the stony bridge were set up to make sure that nobody would fall into the river. A gentle breeze blows leaves over the bridge (not visible in the picture) due to the low walls and absence of palisades. A “chess” table has been set up nearby for people to enjoy a more leisurely activity. When playing against Vagan, just make sure that it’d be a fight that Daresso would’ve been proud of.

Spoiler

Across the bridge on a small island we see Zana tirelessly working on her collection of maps and documents. Although it might look like the books are scattered about, you can be sure that Zana knows where every document is at all times. She is located near the map device because she eagerly awaits the hero to return so she can document the hero’s latest adventures. Tents can be found at the bottom of the small island for when rest is needed after a long day.

Spoiler

Lastly, we have a lounge area near the map device. When adventurers get tired they can rest here and discuss their latest successes, failures, and/or plans when they need a break. A nearby rack of fish helps keep up the party’s strength as well. (As said before, the torches are nearby in hopes of a nighttime option).

Thank you all very much for your time and I hope to hear from you guys soon!
