CoastMart, a.k.a. Merchants of the Coastal Hideout
Hello, my name is Kane Adamson. I'm currently building up a coastal hideout. This is my first real hideout; the others had sparse decorations and were laid out for maximum gameplay convenience (NPCs and crafting benches near the waypoint). The idea behind my hideout is that it is a coastal trading center in Wraeclast that was formed by shipwrecked survivors. This hideout is a work in progress and I would appreciate feedback on my work.
Cast Away starring Framerate Apocalypse Haku is currently level 5, which means that I have a medium coastal hideout. I originally thought that the shipwreck, which is part of the background and cannot be removed, was an eyesore, but I've since integrated it into my long-term plans for the hideout. "How is babby formed?" "Polyandry." I had several unused trees as well as a female exile holding a baby. I was hoping that there was a standing pose, but she only has one variation (sitting down), so I placed her underneath a small cluster of trees. My long term plan is to have part of the hideout be a village, a sort of proto-Australia. Useless Trivia of the Day: The reason why people were exiled to Australia was because Britain could no longer exile people to the Americas due to the American Revolution. Before the American Revolution, unwanted British people got exiled to America. That's right, America was hipster Australia; we were the dumping ground of undesirables before it became mainstream! "Good morning, welcome to CoastMart!" I made Leo the receptionist because he's one-handed, which means it's harder, but not impossible for him to craft stuff. Second, his dashing good looks and his hook prosthetic give him an exotic appeal and a unique first impression with customers. Third, the book he carries is the store guestbook, where people sign in to get into the store. And finally, he is the Master of the Arena, which means that he's no slouch in combat. If people try to rob the store, the apparently disabled receptionist will cut them down where they stand. Leo has a nice chair behind him in case he gets tired. "Crafting while you wait." And now we get to the main area. Customers get to watch equipment being crafted and enchanted while sitting on a nice and comfy bench. Once I get more favor with Elreon, I'm going to get more benches so it looks more like a real waiting room. The unnamed NPC crafters don't have chairs yet. I'll get them something to sit on when I get more favor. "Diamonds are an exile's best friend." Elreon is in charge of enchanting jewelry. He has a chair to sit on in case his back and his knees hurt too much. "Is that a wand in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?" "Both." Haku is in charge of enchanting wands. While Haku is associated with strength, he looks more like a spellcaster than an actual melee combatant, so I made him the guy in charge of magic wands. Also, like all named characters, he has a nice chair to sit on. Extradimensional Storage The stash is hidden in plain sight as the supply chest for the crafters. I'll probably get more crates and other storage decorations so it doesn't look like there's only a tiny chest for all the crafters' supplies. TSA - Teleportation Security Administration And finally, we get to the waypoint. The waypoint is walled off and faces away from the store. The first thing you see upon teleporting to CoastMart is Vagan. I used Vagan as my TSA agent because his floating blades imply spellcasting ability, which suggests that he's able to control who gets to port in and out of CoastMart. Also, if someone unwanted does manage to port in, he can take them down. Leo and Vagan are intentionally close to each other, and guard two different types of portals. Leo guards the mundane entrance/exit and can quickly get to Vagan if the latter needs help. Vagan guards the magical waypoint and can get to Leo if he, in turn, needs help. Just checked out your Best Exotic Wraeclastian Hotel hideout. It looks beautiful. I particularly like how the Forsaken Masters stand around like they're hotel staff. Vorici, in particular, looks like he's a performance chef using his knives to cut the food.
