Here is the hideout I have in the standard league.
It cannot be compared with many hideouts you can find in this section of the forum when it comes to both the concept of the hideout and the polishing of the visuals. However since i did spend some time on making it I though of sharing it anyway.
The general idea is that this is a remote prison with a bit of darker twist. I have tried to show some contrast between the area the prison with the main area used for mapping (where supposedly the people who are the masters of the area live).
These are some images from the prison area (click on the images for the full image). There is also some storage area in one corner:
I tried making the area miserable and also give the sense that no one takes care of this place.
Then there is the main area. I tried making it feel rich and bright. The initial idea was to cover the whole area with carpets. However there were some technical problems with this: It was not possible to cover all the area without having the carpets overlapping. And if carpets do overlap there is a visual glitch which is very annoying. Thus I tried placing the carpets in a way that form various shapes.
The middle of the area has some red carpets and the map device which is also the waypoint. It is also a fireplace and a table! I have added 6 chairs around the map device. When a map is active the chairs overlap with the portals:
I have completed the above some time ago on rampage. The top floor though felt incomplete so I re did it to something that I think is decent enough. The idea is that in the top floor the prisoners are sacrificed using magic. Although this is not really showcased in the hideout, the idea behind it is that this contributes further to the wealth and wellbeing of the masters of the area.
Note that initially I didn't know what to do with the many stalagmites you will see. Originally I have placed the stalagmites in a rectangle and this is really how the hideout had started. Initially I didn't really have something in mind and wasn't sure where this would lead. But it didn't look very well. So I have decided to make this look more like a shrine in the back of the area. I have filled the rest of the area with some large catapult ammo because they filled the area nicely. However I might change this in the future with something more meaningful!
Here is the area, guarded by Leo:
I hope you find this interesting! Any comments are welcome!
