GCP Vendor recipe does not work when selling gems with 80% total quality

I was selling these gems to the vendor (HAKU, LVL 6) with a total of 80% quality:

It's not bugged.
You have to get 40% (or over) for the recipe to work. So take your first 3 gems there. That adds up to 39%. You still need one more to finish it off...so the game takes the next available gem and uses it's quality in it's entirety to finish off the recipe. That leaves you with not enough for the second GCP which is why you get the 3 scroll pieces. Yes, the recipe is not 2 gcps for 80% quality. It's 1 gcp for 40%.

I'm trying this recipe and it isn't working. Is there something special you have to do?
I tried 3 gems, all at 16 and all I get offered is scroll fragments. Thanks |
