Motion sickness from video games
I get this but rarely, the half life games seem to give it me but most if not all modern games don't seem to give me it at all or it's so mild I forget it.Does anyone else suffer motion sickness and what games have given you it?
I do suffer it in the real world as well of course but in circumstances where I try to read or someone's talking to me and I'm turning around to them a lot. |

The only time I've ever gotten motion sickness from playing a video game was from The Darkness - the opening hour or so just made me nauseous, but after that first hour I was fine.

I don't think I've ever experienced it but I know one of my friends suffers pretty badly from it if the FOV is too low...

My girlfriend gets it if the game isn't in first person. Even then, she feels weird after a while.

I suffer a lot from motion sickness. Even in real life I get sick almost every time I travel in a car or bus.
Some games I can remember that give me motion sickness: Borderlands Minecraft Skyrim in 1st person (only played in 3rd) I'm in an abusive relationship with life. It keeps beating the hell out of me and I'm too cowardly to leave it. IGN • NCPEREIRA STEAM • steamcommunity.com/id/NCPereira Last edited by NCPereira#0852 on Feb 20, 2013, 11:47:32 AM

" Wow really? Usually it is the FPS genres that are the worst for it. |

" Exactly. That just made me remember that I also get motion sickness in Skyrim while in First Person View. That is why I only play Skyrim in 3rd person. I'm in an abusive relationship with life. It keeps beating the hell out of me and I'm too cowardly to leave it.

I usualy don't suffer motion sickness, but from playing PoE longer than one hour i get nausea/sickness. It feels just strange. I played a lot other PoE "like" ARPGs and never had any problems. Also playing FPS and games like "Anno" or other strategic games. I dunno why I get this from PoE but it's too bad cause this is such a nice game. :/
PS: Is there any way to change the field of view size of PoE? Maybe this could help. |

This happens to me on first person games that have some sort of running motion simulation (the ones that shake your screen around like Dead Island), but seems to get better if I back away from the screen.
