I'm not a Witch expert, but that sounds roughly correct. Firestorm, yes. The main thing you are missing is priority #1: look for a +1 fire gems wand, with green socket for Fire Trap. Blue so cket wouldn't hurt for Firestorm transition without requiring using the +1 fire gems recipe.
Oh something else is i think you'll want to buy Flame Totem after Mud Flats. Crafting +1 fire gems on the starting wand is probably plenty for most races. Holds Fire Trap + Flame Totem, then Firestorm. For longer races, you'd probably want to filter for 3L wand/Crystal Sceptre with the proper colors, BBB i imagine. Then craft +1.
