The game is only as secure as you are. People hacked tend to blame everybody but themselves for their vulnerability. There is a lock put on your account if you log in from another location. The only way to get the unlock code is via email. So if your email account is secure (password unique and never used anywhere else), even if somebody did get your poe password, the account would get locked as soon as they tried to login. But if your email is secure, your computer is secure, and you don't use a password that you've used elsewhere, you are safe.

My pss was the same here as for my email...rookie mistake i guess,i didnt think ppl would hack newbies like me.but still how did they get my pass? it was long and in another language not english. is this the games fault?
I want to use the shop but i am worried i will get hacked again and ppl will take my stuff. is there a way to prevent this?
There has never been an instance of user information being stolen from this game.

If you're using the same password here and for your email, I'm guessing you use it in other places too. Likely some other site had a security breach and people used the info from there to get into your email, and from there your PoE account. You can check using this website.

Never, ever use the password to your email account anywhere else! It's way too important.

Hi there,

I would also suggest 2 step verification on your email address if it is offered. This means that any potential malicious users would require access to your phone to access your email address. Makes it just that one step more secure.

I hope this helps.
