Pathfinder LA + Barrage

This is going to be comparison inquisitor vs Pathfinder for those who are curious about the results.

As La build you can have three choices:

Inquisitor
Deadeye
or Pathfinder

As you well know, i tried all of them and going to compare all of three to each other and share my insights about why pathfinder overcomes other classes. Im not aiming here to beeing educational here, actually im just wanna see what i have in my mind while writing this here.

Lets talk about DPS first

Pathfinder sheet, 62% crit chance

Town DPS:



While Flasks are on:



14363 - 33598, this is our X-Y keep that in mind.

Inquisitor Sheet, 92% crit chance

- without hatred

- with hatred

16000-35000~ X-Y

- with hatred and instuments of virtue

Pathfinder - 85 Pen
Inquisitor - 75 Pen

I won take instruments of virtue into consideration cause its hard to find a situation where you can both get activated.

265k with 62 crit chance as 85%pen vs 390k with 92 crit chance 75%pen.

The dps is almost same. In pvp i dont care about the crit chance.

Good sides of Pathfinder:

162MS


with retch you can get 177 MS and can empty a vinktar builds charges with simply running away



Rearguard + rumis





gg 73-39 block with perf rearguard

Status Ailments Immunity - Simply 50% more life against vinktar abuse

Both deal almost same damage on crit, Pathfinder is faster, has better utilities, has better initiation.

while inquisitor beeing slow, incapable of answering fast characters and strong + punishing initiations

pathfinder has 30% shock chance also.

Verdict:

+As Pathfinder, as a ranged character, you are the one who initiates, sets the game and looking for a mistake of your opponent.

+As Inquisitor, since its slow and lacks answers due to lack of uitilies pathfinder has, you are the one who gets initiated, and your opponent looks for a mistake you might do. Beeing in defense in such broken high dps meta is just plain stupid. As inquisitor your opponent sets the game, you are looking for a leak in his setup to have a 1-2 shot which brings you victory.

That means, vs characters with good aoe coverage, and faster movespeed inquisitor has no chance at all.

+Rumis + block meta is back, and its not to hard to get enough time a ranged char, rangers are in needd of more utility & mobility than ever in game.

+cwdt-flame dash makes things very complicated vs LA chars. Gaining right positioning is more important what dps and what aoe coverage you have.

+HoT builds, which are most annoying, almost immune when they are on vinktar thanks to vinktar leech.
Having shock immunity + high movespeed is most important thing one character can have

+Rumi flask initiations are big problem and you need very long vinktar duration and leech to be able to facetank whatever damage you receive during rumi duration of your opponent. pathfinder + vinktar is like answer to pathfinder + rumi. It has to be long as other pathfinders rumi duration. while vinktar is on only thing that can kill you is one shots. with 8k-8.5k health you are most likely out of one shot range.

+in mirror matches rearguard + rumi just owns your character hard. you make them lose one slot to BCR

+vs attack based targets rearguard + rumi is also gg.

+177 MS means no spellcaster and no spellcaster whirling blades can reach to you. that is a hard counter for all spellcasters, they have to desperate to be able to initiate you and you force them to make mistakes. same for trappers, you can change your direction faster than they can and find an open spot.

I had exactly, 6,666 Hp, I was dueling Anomaly for these tests. With my current/ normal setup, I can get 75 % block alone with rearguard + rummi's just by taking the flask wheel by the witch.

845 Damage, as level 90, At level 100 I can get 2 more jewels,

5*15*15 =
1125

280% increased damage difference Not accounted for,
118% inc aoe vs 82% inc aoe.

In comparison, 6,666hp Vs my paths, 9.6k+

Takes 2 volleys to kill anomal vs 6-8 volleys.

Qr vs +3 bow, is approximately 500 Damage difference due to Tvalue calculations, However ignite on +3 is insane.

845% flat inc damage vs 247 Path inc damage, however with Path I can use other means to add another 90%


Chalice is my own dirty secret, Typically 4 4 3 4 charge ticks on
, However with chalice up I get 7 7 7 7 charges per tick, 90% is almost 1/3 of my damage, whilst fully refilling my flasks fully 3 times, when in arena environment.

The Retch is for the very quick burst fights, chalice with rare belts is more cray cray

Personally, I favor Rare belts over Retch, as path should have flask uptime 100% of the time.

The value in path is its durability + diversity, however relying solely on block is inherently weak... due to bcr and anti block modded dual casters, I have 60/62 with acro, and acro doesn't get reduced as much, its the layered defense.

The pure damage right now is so high with spectrums, on a +3 6l vortex can degen up to 55k, 70k+ with 13's. Templar's damage is very nice, however without any means of elemental damage reduction, block and dodge is the very last resource we have.

Not to mention how resource intensive it is to get block/ dodge, however block/ dodge bypassers counters rumi's and path finders relatively well.

On other hand, bcr trappers like bon, still hits like a truck as a assassin, with rumi flasked, on full stacked traps theres a 1 in 5 chance I'll survive, requires 1.5 traps to kill me, or 1 trap + perfect winter which is unblockable/ un dodgeable.

If you use The Retch + Alchemist cluster + flask duration node, you can "nearly" sustain the flask as Pathfinder, the only lost as Insquistor is that you are not immune to elemental status (and 25% movement speed). In return, the damage you can gain is huge. I think you should go CI + Rumi/Rearguard to have 2 6-link setup (Blast Rain trap/mine maybe?) to deal with fast gap-closer builds and still have the tankiness like wearing legacy Kaom
To me, Beeing CI has its own problems. Without Vinktar Leech CI is just doomed to be glassy as a bow build. Also, You would end up having very few dps due to turning around witch & templar area. all kinds of degen gives really hard time to CI builds without ZO

Since Sin Trek is just 1 alch weapon, everyone can have those boots as swap.

Rumi + Rearguard is what im using nowadays vs blockable skills.


Profane Chemistry + Herbalist buffs my panicked flasks and i gain around 5-6k life at one use. 8k life + one flask brings me to 12k worth of CI life.

+ druidic rite makes me impossible to catch even by other pathfinders as i have 187 movespeed. it's still hard to deal with well balanced & invested HoT build though. but this gives us a chance now.

Being CI mean you are immune to chaos/poison, other kinds of degen (bleed, ignite) is easier to solve cause you will have 2 more flask slots. And ZO will not goona save you in this 1/2-shoting meta. The damage is not that low, only 15% less attack speed. You can ask Casta for more information about CI :)
I think your problem is that you dont have enought socket for another trap/mine setup, so you just cant deal with them when they approach you
