[HOTW Submission] Squatting in the Solaris Temple

Squatting in the Solaris Temple
So, being an exile is uncomfortable. Lots of sleeping outdoors in the rain on the ground. And there's the ravening hoards of cannibals, bandits, mutants and walking dead.

Oh sure, the fellows in the ruins of Lioneye's Watch and Sarn do what they can. And frankly, I'm tired of tribals spitting on me and threatening to put a spear in my throat. And though I really admire the sustainable farming the Maraketh have managed up on that aqueduct of theirs, an exile can do better.

And other exiles? They're just a bit off in the head. I'll never comprehend why living around piles of corpses is so appealing. They must lick their gems too much.

So when Zana found a nice tucked-away corner in Solaris Temple, I leapt at the opportunity. Dialla is too scatterbrained to notice anybody setting up shop. And there's plenty of great archaeological plunder sitting around Wraeclast. Just the things one needs for a bit of luxury around here.

I find the banners whipping in the wind to be quite fetching.

A great place to sit and enjoy some tea and the chasm breeze.

Select works were taken from the Sarn Library. There are a lot of books on thaumaturgy here.

Zana calls this space a "man cave" and a "broom closet." Hater.

Of particular note is the Karui coffee table that I put in the uhhh . . . I don't know what you call it. The drawing room?

Regardless, Haku assures me it is a priceless cultural artifact of his people and muttered something about cultural appropriation and the ancestors or something. I don't care what he says, it looks great where it is.

I'm really proud of the firepits and plumbing we've installed. A good hot meal is just the thing one needs at the end of a long day mapping. Tora cooks some killer fish. She really knows her way around game, herbs and spices.
