[3.0] Ting's Aurabot/SRS/Zombies/Spectre build (Necromancer)

Simple build I wanted to share. Great DPS and could probably benefit those with the same ambitions.

I wanted to play something that would be fun, and would give me a chance at micromanaging these minions.

My wife and I play POE and with that in mind, party play was important as well as solo play when she didn't feel like playing. So this build targets both aspects of the game, and does it well. My current gear isn't that great, and could probably maximize on HP, but meh, I'll do what i can when I have more currency/time.

I originally got this idea from two separate necro builds, and sorta combined it to make this one.
Credits to Huy and one of the builds of the week for giving me ideas on the gears.

Spoiler

- Not a relaxing gameplay (lots of skills to use)
- A little expensive (but dps scales with gear/jewels)
- Socket hungry
- Vorici missions will suck (unless it's kill or save hostage)

It's not the fastest out there, but like i mentioned, quite satisfying to just watch these guys kill stuffs. If you like what you see here, then continue reading. It's definitely not everyone's type of gameplay. Just a statement - i SUCK at the game mechanics -_-

More videos will soon be posted as I will be trying out the Guardians after I level up one more time. Fail or success, i'll be posting.

Ascendancy (Necromancer)
- Commander of Darkness
- Mistress of Sacrifice

- Beacon of Corruption

Required Gears
Spoiler

Cheap, 5 links will suffice. You'll want a level 3 or 4 enlightened linked up depending on your budget. Colors were easy to get as well. (approx. 35c)

This item is also cheap, and gives minions some added cold damage.

Gameplay
Spoiler

Log in, spawn your zombies/golem/animate guardian. Your spectres and auras should already be persistent. :)
Start your map and roll.

Start with desecrate, then flesh offering.
I like to hit SRS once then use blink arrow to get in front of the mob pack, and just let my minions kill the pack behind me, then rinse and repeat.

For boss fights, try not to activate the boss yet by standing too close, but obviously not too far away. You should use a desecrate/flesh offering to ramp up your speed. Cast 20 of your SRS, then aim in front to release the vaal skeletons, make sure all are activated before using vaal haste and run up to the boss and cast orb of storm and blink arrow away. Let the minions do the killing. Alternate between using Blink Arrow as the cooldown expires and desecrate and flesh offering to keep your minions up to speed. Unless this is a Guardian, they should already be dead, but if not, spam srs and blink arrow to distract the boss.

For party play, you have two options
1. Just follow party members around occasionally casting flesh offering and SRS.
2. Using a secondary bow, cast animate weapons totem and of course cast flesh offering
- This is my favorite as you just need to mostly run and follow the group
- Note that this is not the preferred method for solo mode as you'll need almost the max amount of animated weapons to take out harbingers during higher tiered fights.

Here's what my skillbar looks like.

Pantheon
Spoiler

Soul of the Brine King
Soul of Abberath (since I do a lot of beachheads- the fire grounds suck)

My Current Primary Solo Gear
Spoiler

My Current Secondary Party Gear
Spoiler

Weapons are the only difference. Used to support a 6-link Bow/Quiver for Totems with Animate Weapons.
The idea is for you to run with the party with minimal casting. In this case, casting totems to spawn animate weapons, then flesh offering to maintain you and your minions' speed.

Gear Explanation
Spoiler

Rare helmet with "Flesh Offering grants an additional 21% attack speed" enchant

Optional Helmet (if you cannot afford the above helmet)
Rare bone helmet for the nice minion damage, and of course life and resist if needed

Victario's body armor for that nice generosity to give your minions and party an awesome damage boost

Grip of the Council Gloves for added cold damage for your minions

Rare boots for movement speed, resist, and of course life. The "Avoid stun" enchant is kind of important since you will not have any passive pts nor gear that makes you immune to stuns.

6-link bow is preferred, and isn't that expensive to get. Try getting at least a +1 to socketed gems, and/or another +1/+2 to fire gems. Minion damage stat is preferred as well. bbbbrr is my preference. You can tailor it to your needs. A short bow is almost a must since you won't be able to chrome blues as easily with the other types of bows.

Rare quiver for life and resist with minion speed

Socket, life, resist, and minion movement speed. You don't necessarily need the minion speed, but it just feels better when all of your minions are moving fast

Get the corrupted version with the minion damage implicit. and of course, life/resist

Optional Unique Amulet
It was annoying using MoM since mana pool would dwindle in heavy packs, this amulet solved that issue.

Flasks are relatively cheap/common for this build, focusing on life/mana and speed

Optional boots

This corrupted belt with the Clarity implicit skill will free up an extra socket.

Gems/Links
Spoiler

Now this is my preferred playstyle (as mine differs tremendously from others out there)
I'm not a fan of having to change out gems for boss fights, so this is my permanent setup. And the situations i've been faced with, i haven't had a need to move stuff around, which is why it's staying.

Bow
SRS - Spell echo - Elemental focus support - Minion Damage Support - Elemental Damage with Attacks - Melee Splash (can sub for melee physical damage for bosses)

Secondary Bow when switching weapons (used when in aurabot mode)
Bow (with Spectral Spirit - Essence of Insanity)
Spell totem - Animate Weapons - Culling Strike - Minion Damage Support - Melee Splash - Elemental Focus

Ring socket - Animate Guardian
Animate Guardian
Gearing your Animate Guardian to buff you and minions
- Singularity Mace (hinder effect to nearby enemies)
- Victario's charity (because everyone says it's great)
- Southbound gloves (for the HP)
- Victario's Boots (Gives you and minions a speed boost)
- Ambu's Charge body armour (so Animate Guardian will regen HP)
- Leer Cast helm (increased damage to you and minions)
Customize your Guardian how you want to.
Here's a link to the wiki so you know how it works
AG Wiki

Other ring socket - Summon Stone Golem

Body Armor - Auras
- 5 links preferred hooked up to Enlighten (lvl 3 or 4)
- Anger - Haste - Hatred - Wrath - Enlighten - 6th unlinked Vaal Summon Skeleton

4 links on any of the rest of the gears
- Desecrate - Flesh offering - Blink Arrow - Faster Casting

- Raise Zombies - Greater Multiple Projectile - Raise Spectre - Spell Echo

- Orb of Storm - Culling Strike or Vaal Haste - Curse on hit - Elemental Weakness

All gems should be of the highest level you wish to attain/afford/RNG. But do with what resources you have.

Bad news
Spoiler

I'm not gonna pretend everything's all dandy with this build.
So here's the expensive part
Getting 7-8 jewels with the below priorities = EXPENSIVE
Each of the jewels costs about 100c to 2ex

(Update 10/21/2017) - With the new patch that grants persistent spectres and auras, minion gears have gone up substantially.

Max life - 7%
Minion Damage - 14%-16%
Satisfy stat requirements, or resist, then try to get cast speed

Here's a poe.trade link for the jewels to help with your search. Good luck!

looks like i just found something to do in abyss league
Let me know how you like it :)

If you have any questions, post here.
I'm fairly new, looking for a summoner build to do all content with. I seen you have 3 of the guardian videos up, but how do you think the build fairs against Shaper or even Uber Atziri?

I really like that you get to use both SRS and Spectre's in this build, and that there's room for party play too (have a few friends I play with).

Thanks! :)

Welcome to POE! :)

Shaper was okay. I'm sure if i practiced with it more like other people, i could do better. But this character was literally the 2nd time i've ever faced shaper. I used up all 6 portals before getting him down. With practice, i'm sure any character would be able to face him, but i really suck at game mechanics in general. Uber Atziri i got stuck at the 2nd boss (three bosses). Once again, i'm sure it had to do with my inexperience with Uber Atziri, or my SRS had a mind of its own and killed in the wrong order. Either way, i couldn't finish. :\

And yes, this was the most funnest i've had in poe with this build. Towards the end of league, I managed to even add golems into the mix for even more minion managing. Was fun, but definitely not for endgame. Even if your friends quit early, you can still sustain solo. My wife and i were playing together, but she started to play league of legends, but I was still having fun solo. :)

Please let me know how it fares for you. :)
Really like the idea of hybrid summoner/aura bot. I'm in a similar situation with my buddy where I wanted to try running a support build but I wasn't sure if he'd always be around. Was looking around at different summoner and necrobots. I was interested in running a bit more in the way of support than you currently are though. I put on an alpha's owl and pathed to a few more reservation reduction nodes so that I could fit in an extra two 35% aura's (currently repping purity of ice and discipline) With the extra auras I have an unreserved mana pool of 56, so obviously SRS is out of the question. So I specced a bit more into spectres, and was curious how solar guards would do on just a four link.

Currently testing it out in Mayhem, so not necessarily the gameplay of typical leagues, and the economy is also a slightly different. Not a whole lot of play time so my gear is fairly trashy and definitely budget. There's some stuff I haven't fully fleshed out, like I haven't been able to color my victario's properly (was thinking of fitting in a CWDT+IC in on the spare slots, though maybe I could be using these sockets a little better), and my flasks are fairly trash tier. But overall I'm fairly happy with how it turned out. Haven't really done any mapping past T8 yet, but it seems to do reasonable so far on the 4 Link spectres. If I was in a longer league, I'd maybe try to sneak my spectres into a 6L bow or staff for better single target, but I'd have to shuffle my gems a bit. Fortify feels good, but there's something to be said about blink arrow. Haven't decided how I feel about the animate guardian and I've passed on golems and zombies for now.

Anyway, wanted to say nice build, and pass on my variation if you are at all interested.

Mayhem is definitely a weird economy league. Since it's being voided, prices are either too high or too low. But the items being sold are subpar. -_-

Since you've mentioned the two additional auras, i wonder if having Heretic's Veil and running a second curse would add even more dps for party - since i was aiming for more of an offensive support. But yours is cool as well since you have both defense and offense.

Spectres are definitely OP AF. As a test, i had raise spectre on a 6 linked bow with TVs/Wickermen, and it was insane how fast bosses were dying. (not as fast as having SRS, but comparable nonetheless). Obviously clearspeed was a bit slower, but tolerable.

Animate guardian is just a little extra aura... consider him a 'free' aura without the mana reservation. But our builds in general are socket hungry, so having a guardian is definitely a luxurious bonus. And you really don't need golems and/or zombies... they were sockets i could fit, and i wanted an army behind me. Towards the end of my build, i purchased that anima stone and had the raise spectres (using solar guards) share sockets with flame golems, and that was super fun. they were just spittin tons of fire everywhere.

Thanks for sharing your build.
