[3.1] Self Cast Dark Pact, proof of concept

Leech is not going to be enough, especially since spell nodes and Vaal Pact are so far away. We try to scale regen on the tree, use Vitality Aura, Warlord's Mark for leech, and Blood Offering from Bloodbond unique chest. This is still not enough on its own to sustain self casting with Spell Echo, so Arakaali+Blood Rage is used for more recovery, and Watcher's Eye with increased life recovery is used as well. This will allow you to sustain Dark Pact with Spell Echo, however, it doesn't provide much sustain when you are taking damage (bosses or facetanking Abysses), so Spell Echo sadly has to go. Pick Necromancer, and go with Commander of Darkness, Mistress of Sacrifice Spirit Eater and Beacon of Ruin.

You can remove some regen nodes like the ones by Templar and Growth and Decay and get Doom Cast for example, but you will have a harder time surviving in higher tier maps.


For Pantheon, you want to use Arakaali for that sweet extra recovery when your Immortal Call triggers with Blood Rage. Minor god can be Tukohama.

I have been experimenting with Added Cold + Herald of Ice, and it looks/feels pretty, but dps is better if you stick to Void Manipulation in your main setup. It does, however, work nice defensively, since we chill/freeze monsters.
Use Conc Effect for bosses instead of AoE gem.


You want a dagger or other weapon that will allow you to use Shield Charge for movement speed boost. Cost: 18c.
Rare daggers are best, but another very cheap option is Divinarius.

Shield with life, spell damage and crit. Resistances are a bonus.
Cost: 25c.
Alternatively, use Rathpith Globe.

BiS. Great increase of life, and allows you to use Blood Offering, which adds another 600+ regen per second, and more with Arakaali bonus active. This is what lets you sustain casting DP and regen/leech some more life vs bosses.
Cost: 6L cost me 6ex.

You want rings with high life, resistances, and possibly spell damage/chaos damage/crit multi.
Cost: I got both rings for 20c each.

Again, life + resistances, damage mods optional.
Cost: 12c.

You want as much life and resists as you can get. Any other bonuses are optional.
Cost: 15c for gloves, 15c for belt, 25c for boots, 20c for helmet.



Abyssal Jewels are great but you can also use normal jewels with %life, chaos, area, crit multi and so on. Abyssal jewels are a lot cheaper for the life/dps boost they provide. Each jewel cost me between 5-20c.
Watcher's Eye with Vitality Life Recovery is highly recommended/mandatory if you want to kill bosses without some Summon Skeleton workaround. I divined my to perfect stats using 1 lucky Divine, but you can buy one with low stats for around 4-5ex.


Sulphur for regen, Silver for clearspeed, Witchfire for curse, Diamond for damage. I don't know why I kept Atziri, you should probably replace it with something else.

This is my character, gems need some more leveling but with 20/20 you can reach 460k single target vs Shaper/Guardian type.
