Added Chaos Damage Support

So I'm making a weird build with blade vortex and trying to make use of all the added chaos damage from nodes around shadow. I was wondering if those nodes apply added chaos damage on top of the support gem or if the support gem is only flat vase chaos damage. Also, what are some viable ways to add different element types to spells(or in this case add chaos damage to blade vortex)?
