My build is a hybrid of sorts that's based around 12 skellies, 10 zombies, 5 solar guards and a golem with an anger aura that do fast clearing but I have the issue of low resistances and volatile monsters 1 shoting me and low defenses (glass cannon problem). . . Is there any way to fix this problem with equipment or passive skill tree changes, I'm willing to try everything to improve survivavility in order to do higher lvl content, overall I think I should focus on either using skellies or spectres as a main source of damage , discard the golem and keep the zeds as meat shields

There's no way around playing with low elemental resists. You just have to max all of them out at 75% no matter what kind of character you are playing. Usually this limits you to around 3 or 4 unique items. I usually pick the 3 or 4 that I want then get on Poe.trade and search for rare items that will balance out all my resists and attribute requirements. Then I look for more life or damage if there's room. You have plenty of elemental resist in your tree but your gear is lacking. Replace your belt and the two rings with ones that have more elemental resist. If that's not enough, then replace those boots as well with a rare that has elemental resist instead of a unique.

Good job for just a few weeks in though, it took me about a year to get to the point where you are.

Thanks a lot, I just res speced most of my tree and my resists are currently sitting at 45% minus chaos, I need a few more skills for resists and equipment but I also have issues with low dexterity ATM (an astramentis should solve that) but after I incrased my resist my survivality increased exponentially.

I'm gonna do as you told and put more resists in rings and gloves, as for damage the skellie minions (winions) with brutality, multi, splash and melee melt mobs like knife through butter so that isn't much of an issue. . . Also I'll put points in commander of darkness to get more resists. Thanks for the advice
No problem. This is a good amulet if you're having problems keeping your dexterity high enough for gems or items. It also helps if you have mana issues.

Yup, defense is more important when you're leveling. But when you get into the higher tier maps and on to the Shaper, tier 17 boss, then damage will become more important.

I would strongly recommend you drop support gems from golem and put in immortal call.

You need 2 red linked sockets: Immortal Call + Cast When Damage Taken

This saves lives. You can also use master bench crafting in your hideout to put resists on your rings and gloves. Maxed resists + immortal call gives you way more survivability then high life but low resists.

Also put in purity of elements aura. At lvl 20 and some aura nodes it will give you like 40% resists. It will also help your minions because they are not at max resists by default.

For example if you have 40% resists to cold, then that means if something hits you hard for 10k damage, you take 60% of that damage, that means you take 6k damage die. If you have 75% resists, then this 10k damage is only 2500 damage. Not that bad.
