Using power siphon No Power charge gain.

I'm using Power siphon with Trap Support and I'm not gaining any power charges on the kills at all.
Does anyone know why that is? or is this a glitch? I don't see why this wouldn't work. Honestly, I'm just curious because i had a build in mind and not sure where to go from here.

You won't get power charges from power siphon because your traps are killing the enemies and not you. To get power charges you can either allocate the blast cascade node on the tree (15% chance to generate a pc when your traps are triggered by an enemy), or use jaws of agony (25% chance to gain a pc when you throw a trap)
