Maruder Axe+Shield Cleave - dying a lot! Help

Hi all,

I've recently resumed one of my beta or 1.0 characters - it has been around 40 lvl and I have managed to progress into 9 Act. However I am dying f***ing a lot to main bosses and some random one-shots. I mean, really a lot, like dozens of deaths per boss. Could you help me to fix my build? Keep in mind that I am not really interested in trading in order to have some powerful uniques.

The general idea is to have heavily armored tank, hiding behind the shield and cleave/multistrike the opponents until they die. I've got Overhelming odds and Crimson Dance, put a lot of passives to life/armor/bleed and resistances (right now they are around 40% - will increase them during next few lvls).

Is there any hope for such build?

Yeah it does.

You need to get your resistances capped.

Go to the character tab and I bet you will see most res are at negative amounts. They cap at 75%.

I would consider getting more life nodes, the Marauder starting area has a lot of efficient +4% and 5% life nodes that really add to tankiness.

Also, some point you should fill out the huge life rectangle near the scion starting area.

For your weapon it would probably be a good idea to pick up Jack, the Axe at level 65 since you are going with a bleed build. It would be a huge upgrade to your current weapon (and survivability since it gives leech).

And once you get to level 68 a Bringer of Rain wouldn't be a bad choice, as it serves as a cheap pseudo 6-link.

Btw, I see that you are using the Warlord's Reach unique jewel, which doesn't affect cleave's radius. I would switch it with a rare jewel with +% life and maybe some +% resistances if you aren't capped. If you aren't resist capped that would definitely be the priority though.
