Self-cast Ball lightning / OoS Trickster - Delve 600 - 9k EHP, 4k life leech/sec
Delve 440 Youtube
Hello! This is my first build I've decided to make a guide of. So why should you play this build out of all the ones out there? First off Ball Lightning is amazing. It's just amazing being able to throw away balls and then focus on dodging enemies/moving forward or dashing to the next pack. This offers great survivability in delves since you can throw balls towards the monsters before you even see them and instead of casting skills when you see the monsters you can instead focus on repositioning yourself according to what monster is ahead. You have insane leech. 4k life/sec together with trickster ascendancy 'Patient Reaper' makes you instantly recover to full health unless you get bursted. This together with 9k EHP makes you pretty much impossible to kill while mapping and it's not until delve 550 and double extra damage mods I started running risks of dying. Orb of Storms grants you arcane surge along with ele proliferation which keeps all mobs but really tanky rares/magic monsters frozen during encounters in delve. Really handy and adds a bit of DPS on top of your already strong Ball lightning. Cheap to get going, expensive to max out I used 5c wands till I could afford my void batterys and I cleared t16s with that. Slapping on a Shimmerons isn't bad either, just a tad annoying having to deal with degen post-fights but really not an issue.
Gear
Weapons: Void batterys is the way to go. We stack power charges and benifit heavily from this. There's no other weapon that even comes close. Before you can afford void batterys Shimmeron's is a good option if you can stand healthpotting after fights. If not just use a rare wand with lightning dmg, spell crit and as much spell dmg as possible. Helm: Really important to have the enchant "Ball lightning fires an additional projectile". This speeds up clear immensly. This is also where we socket our orb of storms. OoS is our secondary skill that gives us arcane surge aswell as it chains and freezes pretty much all mobs around us. Prioritize having a 5/6-link OoS over for example 90 life. Crafted life is enough if thats what it takes. I use Tempest's bindning cause the cool minion shocks bosses for 20% aswell as innervate buffs Ball lightning and Ice Bite generates even more frenzy charges (nice for phase run). Prioritize enchant -> OoS links -> Life. Boots Here you can fill out resists, slap on kaom's if you like that (used kaoms till 550 Delve). Personally I like bubonic trails but that means you gotta fill out resists in other places (in my case tree helps alot). Must-have is the enchant "% damage leeched as life and mana if you've killed recently." Chest armor: Here you can pick whatever you prefer. Shroud of the lightless is easily the best damage-vise though. The penetration works for both your cold damage and for your lightning. It's also quite affordable to get nice corruptions which boosts your damage significally. I've used Loreweave too which works fine if you prefer that. Gloves Atziri's acuitys is really really good, vaal pact doubles our already good leech. Build works fine with just any resist-filling glove but truly shines with atziri's. Use if you can afford if not just use any rare glove you see fit. Belt Standard stygian wise, not much to say about it. Fill out resists, reduced flask charges is QoL. Amulet Crit multi - life - mana - penetation/non-chaos as extra chaos. Chance to gain extra charges really not necessary (got warlords mark self-cast if you wanna refill charges). Rings Call of the brotherhood is mandatory, the cold damage freezes so much around us and keeps us safe. Precursos's 9% phys reduction and 20-180 lightning damage is also insane DPS and survivability. Use rare rings if you can't afford these rings, it works but not if you wanna dig deep :) Also considered using 2x call of the brotherhoods but been too lazy to balance resists around it :) Jewels This is where it gets expensive. Might of the meek's and Unnatural Instinct is really good. Unnatural instict grants so much QoL in terms of movement speed, cast speed and damage that it's insane. However the build works fine without these, just don't path down to that area and fill out life etc in other places in tree. Remaining socket you fill with as much crit multi jewels as you can find. As for the watcher's eye the dmg gained as mana is the one we need. The extra MoM doesn't really do much to be honest, it's just that mana refills faster due to patient reaper that it can save you in special occations. Flasks Basically balancing flasks for defence/offence. Keep in mind the shock flask is critical for delve.
Misc
Bandits: Help alira for resist, mana regen and crit multi, really a no-brainer. Lab - Normal: Weave the Arcane - Gives nice DPS boost after using movement skills, Swift killer is an option Lab - Cruel: Swift killer - Nice for crit/frenzy charges which speeds up running quite a bit (phase run). Lab - Merciless: Patient reaper - Now we get this for the recovery on kill, packs are getting bigger and you start picking up the speed when running through maps. Lab - Uber: Here you have the option between harness the void and ghost dance. If you go ghost dance you should have vaal discipline for 40% cast speed. I prefer Harness the Void due to the significant DPS boost. Pantheon - Soul of the brine king so you don't get stun locked. Ryslatha for increased life recovery on low life. These are very individual tho.
Links
Weapon1: Phase run and clarity for watcher's eye. Weapon2: Enfeeble for delving and maps it fit. Turn it off for bosses and curse immune mobs. Helm: OoS, freeze setup with arcane surge for extra dmg. Boots Chest armor: 5-link in body armor. Swap in slower proj instead of hypothermia if you need extra dps for hard bosses. Gloves Self-cast warlords if you need to refill on Endurance charges and also if you need to leech vs bosses. Standard CWDT setup with a chaos golem for extra phys mitigation. This is like 100ex in jewels for this build. Will this build work with normal jewels?
