Sulfite problem

People have reported the best thing to do right now is to either wait for a fix from the studio or make a beeline for level 8 sulphite capacity (1500 sulphite i think) then start working on the darkness res/flares etc.

Shagsbeard: It's a little better in maps but sulphite is very scarce.

Yeh even in maps it's scarce.
Yes you have a fixed location for niko, but if he's hiding in a T15 you don't have, bad luck ...

Got one... so it isn't a bug. Just way too rare. Second one of the game in Shaverone's Tower Act VI. Bad luck at a 10% chance it looks like. Given that scarcity, they need to do something about costs or progression will be far too slow compared to character progress.

Yeh really I played 3h maps yesterday for 15min delve at lvl70.

To me it's not the time ratio that's important... it's progress. In Delve you need to progress parallel to a character's progress or that character is pretty much out of luck. Future characters wont be, but your first character will be unable to run delve at an appropriate level because they lack the darkness resistance and light radius needed. So they run crap just to get those up... "wasting" sulfite. They're looking at balancing this. More sulfite per Niko isn't going to help much if you can get a run of 30+ areas without getting a Niko. Not an easy fix. Too many conflicting league mechanics in core.

They need to rework delve. Their biggest problem is that they made the damn thing account bound rather than character bound. That's making it really hard to balance so that your first character of the league and your third have similar experiences.
I don't know how they will do it...
But for now, global 820 helped getting me sulphite.

But running 15x a T12+ map, dropping some Sulph, IF you find any and being able to do 4 or 5 delves at lvl 69 is not in proportion.

This is not necessarily bad criticism, imo delve has amazing potential to co exist beside atlas, it's just not tuned to the point where it provides an alternative end game.

If GGGs intention was to offer additional end game as I understood from the interview, delve just needs tweaking

Delve should be a way of getting rich and geared up BEFORE Atlas. FOUR acts before one can begin delving - that's shitload of time and opportunities to gather some extra V.S. to be able to delve later.
I'm having the same problem. I have not seen any sulfite yet on my new character, and yes I am passed act 4
I got the same problem it seems now in 2024. And I am in act V. I went back to the mines to check again. Nothing in mines, nothing in crystal mines, nothing, nothing, nothing. So I guess I just have to quit this pursue and go back and complete the acts. I just needed a bit more to get to make that dynamite. I was on my way to do it a few days ago... but crashed to desktop. That can be the reson too... that its been messed up. I don't know. Glad I found this thread. I am in the to mines now and had to just check again for information and found this among others.
Relax
You wont find sulphite in the mines, you need to find it in the environment, and it is pretty noticeable, you will know when you find it and a sulphite meter will pop up to the left of your mini map briefly when you collect some, showing you how much you have stored.

There are some other ways to get it but during campaign you need to encounter Niko in the environment.

This is side content, I would suggest just progressing along with the campaign and you will get some eventually. Those delve quest don't give you any benefit or prevent any of your progress. I think they just want to introduce you to the delve mechanic, but it is a source of confusion. Won't be related to your tech problem.

Sounds like you've done a few nodes, so you understand it and will be able to continue when you do find more sulphite late on.

For making dynamite you need azurite, which you do get in the delve mines. Think you know this and are needing more sulphite to get that azurite, but just wanted to make sure incase.
