[3.13] FROSTBOLT / ICE NOVA *NON-COC* Assassin Build . SELFCAST Spells! Uber Elder + VIDEO!

While everyone were obsessed with COC, i was experimenting with BALLS. With a selfcast BALLS. With Ice Novas on top of cause.
Mathil loves this build as well, and he played it three times actually, but i had a totally different vision for that since the very beginning. First of all i wanted to utilize insane Elder 8L staff i dropped from one of the Uber Elders, beef up the neglected Frostbolt (my very first ever build was Frostbolt back in 2017! Gotta pay the dues!) to the max, and go CI ES TANK as well, with ES spell leech. All these ideas are combined and reflected in this build you see. I successfully killed all content deathless, so i guess it kinda worked! In 3.6 Ice Nova has been changed to expand from 2 Frostbolt projectiles, so it became possible to cast Frostbolt and follow-up Novas afterwards with doubled damage. With the new support gems like Unleash and changed Pledge of Hands (3.7), as well as skill gems like Inspiration (3.8) available on Elder items it became possible to raise up the DPS bar to a whole new heights! ====================================================================================== 1) PROS

-bad against fast bosses (Chimera is VERY annoying) -needs 2 six-links for full power -still pretty squishy i would say, needs Acrobatics to became really tanky (if you want to go HC) -need gem swap for Bosses -i don’t know how rare elder and shaper bases will be in 3.9 for now, so hard to predict the FUTURE of the build 3) Skill Tree Progression / Path of Building / Ascendancy / Bandits

Axioms, Goldrim, Tabula, Lochtonial Caress, Wanderlust. Lifesprigs (Axioms are better in late game) Start with Freezing Pulse + Added Cold Damage and at level 12 grab Storm Brand. You can add Added Lightning on top as well as Herald of Ice and Thunder as soon as they are available. Another option is to level up with Arc Trap or Explosive Trap. Elemental Focus or Hypothermia as well, when available. In Act 5 you can get https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Frozen_Trail for free and start speccing into a real build. Although if you wish you can still carry on with Storm Brand. Don’t forget to buy cheap FIVE LINK chest for 1 chaos early on! Pledge of Hands is a GG staff, unless you have 2x mod Elder Staff or a multimod elder staff. For jewels looks for crit multi with elemental skills \ cold . For abyssal jewels: cold damage with spells. For Uber Lab enchant: 20%% Reduced Discipline, 40% Ice Nova damage. 5L Frostbolt: Frostbolt-Hypothermia-Increased.Crit.Strikes-Unleash-Greater.Multiple.Projectiles(MAPS)/Slower.Projectiles(BOSSES) 6L Frostbolt: Frostbolt-Hypothermia-Increased.Crit.Strikes-Unleash-Greater.Multiple.Projectiles(MAPS)/Slower.Projectiles(BOSSES)-Energy.Leech 5L Ice Nova: Ice.Nova-Hypothermia-Spell.Echo-Energy.Leech-Increased.Area.of.Effect(MAPS)/Concentrated.Effect(BOSSES) 6L Ice Nova: Ice.Nova-Hypothermia-Spell.Echo-Cold.Penetration-Energy.Leech-Increased.Area.of.Effect(MAPS)/Concentrated.Effect(BOSSES) Keep in mind it will be hard to get 2 green sockets on a staff base as you will be getting A LOT OF reds.I recommend just saving chromes and use 2G crafting bench. I compared both and found next to no DPS difference. Pledge repeats more Ice Novas, but it seems like it hits weaker than Elder staff. I did many shaper kills to see what's the difference and it's pretty much none. It might be because my staff is really strong though. I recommend going with Pledge of Hands as it's much much easier to get, unless you really want to invest into a great multimid elder staff
