Blade Vortex Chieftain

Hello All,
Im a relatively new player to PoE. I seen this build on a guide from Esoro https://youtu.be/rnhaseNAPMc

Im level 64 currently and Have quite a bit of the pieces of gear he recommends and I seem to be dying quite often and not doing nearly as much damage as he is. I feel im missing something important but cant figure it out. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

The build looks fine. I'm assuming it's a bit of a playstyle issue. You could try and get an instant life flask for when you are in trouble. Also get some utility flasks and try getting used to keeping them active at all times. Flasks are a very important and strong part of the game.

Without knowing your setup i can only speculate, make sure you have enduring cry on your left mouse button instead of the walking skill to keep your charges up and have the mitigation on cooldown. And try to pre-cast your blade vortex before you go into a pack of monsters

Edit: Also please take out the level 1 Empower from your 6L and put it into your offhand weapons. It gives no benefit at level 1 and takes away a socket which could be invested into more damage. if i recall correctly esoro has an alternative gem for empower in his guide. The same goes for enlighten. Enlighten/Empower/Enhance only have a benefit at level 2+. I also hope that you are not actively using righteous fire. you are only supposed to activate the vaal version of the skill. maybe that is the reason why you die.

Is there any guide for how to level this kind of character? I have no idea which gems to use, as I heard you can play BV after lvl 50
