Ascendant for SoftCore and HardCore

Why is Ascendant the most popular class on SC, but one of the least popular for HC (from poe.ninja). Whats up with this, she doesn't have defense?

They got nerfed in 3.13. It was expensive before should be prohibitively expensive now. It's being debated whether it's still viable for people who doesn't play 5+ hours a day. Time will tell.

You are looking at end of Heist data which doesn't mean anything. Change the time to somewhere between day 1 and week 1, and Scion's usage is about 4% and 2% in SC and HC respectively. This doesn't come as a surprise as builds / ascendancies with greater defenses are more popular in HC. Its why Champion, Chieftan, Gladiator and Juggernaut are more popular in HC, whereas Assassin is used much less in HC.
