It is my dream that the D2 remaster will pull away all of the people that hate core Harvest and Heist, and leave us with only the casuals. Ahh yes, casuals, my brothers and sisters. My PoE family. My heart would be aflutter.
Sadly I doubt that any relief from the ridiculous hate threads towards these two amazing and wonderful leagues will be long lived. I say this only because there is one game company that beats GGG by a long shot in their ability to disappoint. Disappoint me, that is. The only thing that ever disappointed me more was Fallout 76, and, fuck all I didn't think that could be beat. So, before we all go giddy, remember that Blizzard is at the top of the heap when it comes to game companies that make teardrop soup from nerd essence, shit in it, stir it with a shit spoon, shit it in again, then sell it back to us as a tasty Shizer Sonderling Soup, and even after that berate us for not loving how it tastes. They will revel in your unhappiness and bathe themselves in your tears. Unless it's a complete success and awesome in every way. In which case, I'll still be enjoying my causal Heist and Harvest core and the GGG haters will be gone. So, I am either happy for a little while, or happy forever. Almost a double win win. But in all seriousness I like this game, and I admire and respect the brilliant and truly charismatic people that originally created it. I very much enjoyed Heist league too, with its flaws. But the game has become —how can I put it— saturated, bloated with so many things that it's not difficult or hard anymore, it's simply tedious to do anything. But even then I could still have fun with it, had it not become almost unplayable technically, requiring so much on the user's side, while being so problematic on the servers' side. But it still remains many honest people's business, and these people have families and all that, so ultimately they know better what's the best thing to do. But hey, don't blame me if I go play D2Rez, sometimes it simply boils down to the good old "less is more", and this time I'm afraid it's one of those times.
