Version 3.17.0 is an upcoming major update for Path of Exile. It will launch on June 10th, 2023 for PC and June 17th for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Challenge leagues are a great opportunity for a fresh start in a new economy. All of your old characters and items are still present in the Standard and Hardcore leagues, but you're encouraged to join the new leagues, complete challenges and demonstrate your mastery of Path of Exile! The update will introduce a new league called Reckoning, where players will face powerful enemies that can only be defeated by using special items called Judgments. Judgments are rare drops that can modify the enemy’s stats, abilities and rewards. Players can also craft their own Judgments by combining different components. Introducing Judgements! Judgments come in four types: Mercy, Justice, Vengeance and Wrath. Each type has a different effect on the enemy and a different reward for you. Mercy reduces the enemy’s damage and health, but also lowers the item quantity and rarity. Justice balances the enemy’s stats and gives you a fair reward. Vengeance increases the enemy’s damage and health, but also boosts the item quantity and rarity. Wrath makes the enemy extremely powerful and dangerous, but also grants you a guaranteed unique item drop. You can use Judgments on any enemy you encounter in the Reckoning league, but some enemies are more worthy of your Judgment than others. These enemies are marked with a special icon above their heads and have a higher chance to drop Judgments and other valuable items. You can also encounter unique bosses that require a specific Judgment to be defeated. The Reckoning league also introduces a new set of unique items and divination cards, inspired by the lore and themes of the league. These items and cards have effects and properties related to Judgments, elemental damage and ailments, The Tribunal and the gods of Wraeclast. Some of these items and cards are: The Judge’s Gavel, a unique mace that grants you a random Judgment on kill; The Jury’s Verdict, a unique ring that changes your Judgment type every second; The Executioner’s Hood, a unique helmet that increases your damage against enemies affected by Judgments; The Godslayer, a unique sword that deals extra damage to bosses and has a chance to drop a Sacred Key on kill; The Divine Gift, a divination card that grants you a random unique item from The Tribunal; The Reckoning, a divination card that grants you 10 Judgments of each type. The Reckoning league also includes a new set of cosmetic microtransactions, including armor sets, weapon skins, pets and portals. These microtransactions are themed after the Reckoning league and the gods of Wraeclast. You can buy them from the in-game shop or earn them from The Tribunal trials. Some of these microtransactions are: Reckoning Armor Set, a dark and metallic armor set that resembles the Judgments; Reckoning Weapon Skin, a weapon skin that adds a glowing Judgment effect to your weapon; Reckoning Pet, a pet that looks like a miniature Judgment; Reckoning Portal Effect, a portal effect that creates a Judgment symbol when you enter or exit a map. The Reckoning league also features various improvements to performance, user interface, graphics and sound. These improvements include: Improved loading times and stability, especially for maps with high density and effects; Improved enemy and boss animations and models, making them more realistic and detailed; Improved skill and item tooltips, showing more information and clarity; Improved sound effects and music, adding more variety and immersion; Improved lighting and shadows, making the game more vibrant and atmospheric. The Reckoning league also introduces a new challenge league mechanic: The Reckoning Wheel. The Reckoning Wheel is a wheel of fortune that appears at the end of each map. You can spin the wheel once for free, or pay one Crucible Point to spin it again. The wheel has various outcomes, ranging from beneficial to harmful. Some of the outcomes are: Lucky Drop, which grants you a random item or currency drop; Unlucky Drop, which destroys a random item or currency in your inventory; Lucky Modifier, which adds a random positive modifier to your next map; Unlucky Modifier, which adds a random negative modifier to your next map; Lucky Encounter, which spawns a random beneficial encounter in your next map, such as a strongbox, a breach or an abyss; Unlucky Encounter, which spawns a random harmful encounter in your next map, such as an invasion boss, a beyond portal or a betrayal encounter. Challenge rewards! The challenge rewards are another important part of the Reckoning league. The challenge rewards are cosmetic microtransactions that you can earn by completing various challenges in the league. There are 40 challenges in total, and you can earn a reward for every 12 challenges you complete. The challenge rewards are: 12 Challenges: Reckoning Helmet Attachment, a helmet attachment that adds a Judgment effect to your helmet. 24 Challenges: Reckoning Weapon Effect, a weapon effect that adds a Judgment effect to your weapon. 36 Challenges: Reckoning Wings, a back attachment that adds a pair of Judgment wings to your back. 40 Challenges: Reckoning Portal Effect, a portal effect that creates a Judgment symbol when you enter or exit a map. These challenge rewards are exclusive to the Reckoning league and cannot be obtained elsewhere. They are also account-bound and cannot be traded or sold. You can view your progress and claim your rewards from the Challenges tab in the game menu. New Endgame System! The update will also add a new endgame system called The Tribunal, where players can challenge the gods of Wraeclast and earn divine rewards. The Tribunal consists of 12 trials, each with a different theme and boss. Players can access The Tribunal by collecting Sacred Keys from maps and other sources. The Tribunal trials are not easy to complete. Each trial has a set of rules and modifiers that affect both you and the boss. You will also have to face waves of enemies before reaching the boss. You can use Judgments on these enemies, but be careful: some Judgments may have negative effects on you as well. The rewards for completing The Tribunal trials are worth the risk. Each trial grants you a unique item that is themed after the god you faced. These items have powerful effects and synergies that can enhance your build and playstyle. You can also earn Crucible Points, which can be used to buy various rewards from Zana’s Crucible Shop. Here's an item i asked it to generate: Additionally, the update will include: A rework of the passive skill tree, adding more options and diversity for different builds. A revamp of the Ascendancy classes, giving each one a new unique identity and playstyle. A new set of skills and support gems, focused on elemental damage and ailments. A new set of unique items and divination cards, inspired by the lore and themes of the Reckoning league. A new set of cosmetic microtransactions, including armor sets, weapon skins, pets and portals. Various improvements to performance, user interface, graphics and sound. As a joke i asked it to produce a "pay to win" feature. We have introduced a new feature to the game: Pay to Win. This feature allows you to purchase various advantages and benefits with real money, such as: Instantly level up your character to level 100 and unlock all passive skill points and ascendancy points. Instantly complete all quests and challenges and receive all rewards and achievements. Instantly obtain any item or currency you want, including unique items, divination cards, mirrors of Kalandra and headhunters. Instantly access any map or area you want, including the Shaper’s Realm, the Elder’s Domain and the Maven’s Crucible. Instantly defeat any boss or enemy you encounter, including the Shaper, the Elder, the Maven and Sirus. Instantly modify any item or skill you have, including adding or removing sockets, links, mods, quality and enchantments. Instantly gain any buff or effect you want, including permanent auras, heralds, flasks and vaal skills. To access this feature, simply press the Pay to Win button on the top right corner of your screen. You will be redirected to our secure payment page, where you can choose from various payment options and packages. The more you pay, the more you win! We hope you enjoy this new feature and thank you for your continued support! Some random generic patch notes. The base damage of all elemental skills has been increased by 10% to compensate for the increased monster resistance and health in higher tiers of maps. The duration of all elemental ailments (freeze, shock, ignite and chill) has been reduced by 20% to encourage more active gameplay and prevent permanent crowd control. The effectiveness of all sources of elemental penetration (from passive skills, items, gems and curses) has been reduced by 25% to make elemental resistance more meaningful and challenging. The damage over time multiplier for all sources of chaos damage (from passive skills, items, gems and ascendancies) has been increased by 15% to make chaos damage more competitive and viable. The base mana cost of all skills has been reduced by 20% to allow more flexibility and creativity in skill combinations and mana management. The base life and energy shield of all monsters has been increased by 50% to make the game more challenging and rewarding. The base drop rate of all currency items (from orbs to shards) has been reduced by 10% to make the economy more stable and balanced. The base critical strike chance and multiplier of all spells has been reduced by 10% to make critical strikes more rare and impactful. The base damage and area of effect of all melee skills has been increased by 15% to make melee skills more powerful and satisfying. The base damage and range of all projectile skills has been reduced by 10% to make projectile skills more balanced and skillful. The base damage and duration of all minion skills has been increased by 10% to make minion skills more reliable and fun. The base damage and cooldown of all trap and mine skills has been reduced by 15% to make trap and mine skills more responsive and versatile. The base damage and mana reservation of all aura and herald skills has been increased by 10% to make aura and herald skills more impactful and costly. All of this was generated by Bing Ai, including the item. I just added it to a frame so it looked nice. Wat da hek Last bumped on Apr 8, 2023, 6:22:55 AM

Amusing (if rather light on specific details). But the league mechanic sounds too manual-labor intensive and basically tedious af.
Not to mention I don't think "easier enemies for worse loot" is a thing that's ever been asked for in PoE. Again: it's amusing tho. ;) If only QoL improvements were as easy as wishing them into an AI text generator, eh? Pfft GGG probably still wouldn't bother. |
