Is Berserker's Rite of Ruin Degen Hard to Handle?

Hello, returned to PoE after a couple years and planning to build a berserker ice crash. However I have some doubts over Rite of Ruin degen. Is the degen annoying? Should i pick some life regen nodes?

In short, I'm asking does rite of ruin feel smooth or not. If not, what should i do to make it feel smooth?
