[3.23 Update] Lightning Golem minion build | Fast mapper/bosser | First ever endgame LG build

[3.23] Update:

The Lightning Golem of the Horde has 3 max number of golems on the gem and 40% increased cdr for the minion from quality. With the removal of +1 max number from Anima Stone that gives you one additional golem to work with.

I'm don't think this will make the Lightning Golems a good league starter but they will definitely be an interesting option from the medium budget and onwards in the next league.

All PoBs have been updated to fit the currently available information.

Intro:

Hi everyone,

I want to show you my Lightning Golem Ascendant which is the first ever endgame viable build that features LGs as main minions.

Basics:

The LGs predominantly use a spell projectile that deals lightning damage which can be made to return utilizing Pierce and Anomalous Faster Projectiles Support. This was made possible in 3.21 because the mechanics of returning projectiles were changed and are now working for pretty much any type of projectile which represents a 20-40% dmg buff depending on the level of investment.

Class/Ascendancy:

The reason we want to play LGs on the Ascendant is because of the Elementalist specialisation: You get +1 number of maximum Golems and further -20% resistances when inflicting exposure which hits the sweetspot for golem builds that deal elemental damage.

Combining this with the Necromancer specialisation (for minion dmg and offering effect) and the Deadeye specialisation (for Mark effect and Tailwind) provides more power to the build than either the Necromancer or Elementalist Ascendancy would give us.

The Forbidden Flame/Flesh combo allocating the Elementalist specialisation is also pretty cheap which is always great.

Bandits & Pantheon:

You should kill all bandits for the passive points and use Soul of the Brine King for freeze immunity and reduced chill effect as well as Soul of Abberath for burning ground immunity and reduced ignite duration.

Leveling:

The skill gem can be accessed after the quest 'Breaking the Seal' in act 4 but shoudn't be used until the medium budget due to the low dmg early on. You should instead level it as Absolution which is available from the end of act 1 shortly before fighting merveil.

This Video features an Uber bossing showcase and the full build guide for 3 different levels of investment (30, 250 & 500 divs) +low budget/league start alternative to get started

Pros and cons

Pros:
+ permanent, ranged minions
+ great scaling: 150m+ SDPS for the Ultra high budget
+ decent mapper, can do legion which most minion builds struggle with

Cons:
- visual clarity is limited due to returning projectiles, especially against bosses
- DPS has to ramp up due to projectiles having to first pierce the target and then return
- DPS on medium budget can feel a bit lackluster due to the underwhelming base dmg of the lightning projectile

Gear and Gems

Spectres and AG

You want to use Carnage and Host Chieftains for frenzy and power charges on minions aswell as an Arena Master for the buff. As a fourth spectre you can either use a Primal Rhex Matriarch or a Pale Seraphim for the respective debuff.

The gear of the AG heavily depends on the budget and can be found in the gear section of the respective PoBs.

Hello, nice build! Is there a league starter version? :)
The league start version of it is so bad that I don't advocate for people using it. The leveling/leaguestart is best done as Absolution Ascendant which is covered by the low budget section in the description of the video.
Is there a reason why you are not using a mageblood ?

Minion builds don't benefit from one. Rare belts are always better.
It'd be nice to not hard freeze. Just saying. YES I AM INSANE, ZANA! :>

Mageblood is also incredibly expensive and my builds are already somewhat inaccessible to many players due to the high cost.

They are already inaccessible to many players so may as well go all out :p .
you think the build will be good next league without crucible tree ?

They will loose alot of dmg (20-40% depending on the level of investement with higher budgets loosing more DPS) if Anomalous Faster Projectiles will be changed this number would increase further...

It will still work but I'm afraid the dmg might just not be good enough to justify investing alot of currency.
Hello, after 3.22 patch notes, do you think it's worth to play the build or not?:)

As much as I enjoyed playing it, I don't think the current power level justifies playing the build in 3.22. I'm searching for a way to bring it back in some form and I will ofc update the thread once I've something.
