poe 1 characters and gear translating to poe 2

Can someone refer me to the latest official statement regarding whether or not poe 1 characters and equipment will be usable in poe 2? I find nothing but conflicting information when searching for this answer. please and thank you.

PoE 2 will be a separate game, characters and equipment from PoE 1 will not be usable in PoE 2.

The only things that'll be usable in PoE 2 from POE1 IIRC are non-consumable MTX.

We don't have specifics to share on an item-by-item basis at this stage I'm afraid. However, Jonathan (one of the game directors of Path of Exile 2) has stated that all of your purchases will be shared across both games unless it's hyper specific to the content of one of them. Unfortunately your characters and in-game items will not be transferred into Path of Exile 2 as it is a separate game to Path of Exile. Need help with anything? " So as pointed out your characters, gear and currency are not transferring over, the game is now separate where as before it was supposed to be a alternate champaign with a shared endgame on the same servers. It's not that big of a deal tbh, no worse than playing a new league, and you'll have all MTX past a few fringe cases (say if they don't have a specific skill in PoE2...that being said they have also stated that if the skill was ever added in a later update then the MTX would be there for it) Ancestral Bond. Completely disappointed with this change, obviously the majority will migrate to path of exile 2 for obvious reasons, and standard players lost everything they worked to achieve in the game over the years with hundreds of crafting attempts and negotiations! I don't see any point in continuing to play this, I think it's a decision that only makes casual season players happy and completely discourages standard players who remain in the game regardless of season successes.
