Decoy Flamewood Ignite Chieftan
Hi there.
I don't know what I'm doing or how everyone does everything in these forums, but I want to share a build I've been working on for a couple leagues and share it with the rest of you. I've had a blast playing it and I know someone out there is going to just love it. First, gotta give credit where credit is due: This build was inspired by Dreamcore on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYCArK9tJ4E&t=8s Dreamcore makes well; thought-out videos. I'd recommend subscribing to him. https://pobb.in/4L0rsP5TXvuU The mechanics in this POB are intended to be straight-forward. The decoy aggros enemies, they attack it and burn. The extra skill gems in the Decoy Totem skill are for early leveling. Before you have 100% ignite, you might favor wanting more, so you'd use combustion. Perhaps before you can get enough ignite for it to matter, you favor multiple projectiles. LMP is your solution. Otherwise, Ignite Prolif isn't available to a Marauder until act 6 when you get Lilly, so I'd recommend plugging in Elemental Prolif asap to kill off the extra mobs. Then when you can, it's Decoy Totems - Spell Totem - Ignite Prolif - Burning Damage - Deadly Ailments and last, Swift Affliction. Swift Affliction will have the highest DEX requirement, so implimenting it last is recommended as we're playing a Marauder. Arcanist Brand with Flame Surge will turn the ignite into burning ground on the target, which is like almost doubling your damage. I'm on the fence between Flammability and Punishment, but Flammability can get you extra ignite chance in the beginning, so I'd recommend using it. I haven't tested the difference thoroughly enough to recommend Punishment, but that might be a mid/late game switch. The Shield Crush and Flame Dash/Frostblink linked with lifetap will give you lifetap's effect as well as the arcanist's brand so keeping the buff up shouldn't be too difficult. Also, I'd recommend leaving the lifetap gem to level 1, but upping it's quality will give more time if you don't use these skills enough to keep lifetap up. I put Eternal Blessing to boost the Purity of Fire skill and an auto Ruby Flask should make 90% all Elemental Res easy enough to achieve. Malevolence & Summon Skitterbots is there to boost damage, plain and simple. Dawnbreaker and Legacy of Fury give the best damage/movement speed/scorch uptime. Torchoak is a good option or Gang's Momentum, but I have more fun with Legacy of Fury. The Dawnbreaker and Cloak of Flame shift much of your damage to fire, and this build uses the Chieftan strength of fire mitigation to handle much of the damage that would affect you. I've included some recommended gear and jewels to use to further enhance the build. With this build, I've been able to obtain 2 voidstones, but didn't clear all content. Feel free to comment and suggest changes/improvements. I'm not an expert on POE, but I've done a few variations, including using a Forbidden Shako with level 35 flamewood and level 6 Deadly Ailments, but I'm not looking to do that this time around. :) I really enjoy playing this build and it's fun. While all the crazy fast players are zooming around, aggroing everything they can't kill and die, you roll up and wait them out. They all burn eventually. :D Thanks for taking the time to read, feel free to rip my build to shreds. What doesn't kill it only makes it stronger. Also, go easy on me, I'm not trying to break any rules if I did. Just sharing for the joy of others, and hopefully getting some good solid criticism that makes a build I enjoy even better. :) Last bumped on Oct 14, 2024, 5:13:57 PM
