Does playing through steam client ever necessitate the use of the linked email?
Lost access to my email linked to this account, was unable to move to a new email because the last purchase on the account was made through my brothers card because I was broke at the time and didn't think it would ever be an issue (he uses a different bank now, and not going to go through the trouble of contacting the old one just to see if they have year+ old records so he can hassle Xsolla for a transaction ID)
My question is, if I am unable to restore my old email via the provider (if they ever get back to me), is this account totally bricked? Or can I still just use my steam account without worry of needing to verify whenever I change IP or whatever? Or is the 2FA built into steam all that is used? Would really like to not lose my almost 10 year old account, with hundreds of dollars, thousands of hours, and league rewards on it, to have to start new and buy stash tabs all over again. Again, just wondering about playing on steam, CS cannot move to my new email unless I get that last transaction ID verified, even though I can verify every other one ever made. Already have, and can't get help.
I guess a tl:dr question is: If I log into the game with different IP addresses on steam, will I need to use my email that is linked to verify and log in? Or is that not something that happens on the steam client? It's been a while since I have played on steam so I don't remember. |
