Regarding Trial of Sekhemas
GGG, i am absolutelly loving the game so far and have already hit lvl 70+ with my witch infernalist! However, trial of sekhemas (3 trials) has to be the most infuriating mechanic in the game. I remember how niche sanctum was in poe1, and for good reason. The honour system is simply overtuned, it makes no sense for an ascendancy being locked behind 3 sanctum runs in a row (with the alternative being 10 rounds of hell in ultimatum) where honour drops fast and heavy with each tiny mistake.
Completing the 2 trials is getting easy now with all the relics i have equiped, maxing my honour resist. But the 3rd one is simply unfair...i dont want to slug away at maps to gain lvl 80+ just so i can attempt a lvl 60 sekhema trial. I am scared to think what melee characters are experiencing in this :(. rest of the game is virtuoso, wizard level masterpiece btw! :)) SUGGESTION: either disable honour loss in boss rooms, OR Make it so honour does not affect completion of the trial, but instead affects the rewards you get from the end. Same feeling here, but alreadyu stuck for first ascendency.
Are you telling me I need to go 3 floors of that damned thing so i can get the ascendency ? Damn... I made a similar post (probably more heated cause i was just out from ~20 fails at this), but had no solutions to offer. I feel like the 2 suggestions you make both make sense, but also, making the difficulty of the various rooms more "even" (as there is no real difference in reward), would make sense to me. |

Yes, in order to get ascendancy points 5 and 6, you need to either complete a trial of sekhema with 3 floors, or trial of chaos with 10 rounds.
i think that unless youre a melee character, you will be able to get the first 4 ascendancies by atmost lvl 50 (it gets very easy). the problem lies with the modifiers and the ways the 3rd floor works in sekhema (sandpits that slow you and unrelenting DoT effects) |

my minions killed me 2 rooms before boos at 3rd floor
that i have to disable minions to complete a trial i have never thought of that i guess my char will only stay with 2 trials complete and locking ascendancy behind sanctum and ultimatum? nice very nice /s guess thats my limit for poe2 Last edited by giogr#6736 on Dec 13, 2024, 5:49:34 AM

Its just fantasticly boring. its not fun at all.
I don't want to solve puzzles, stress over timers and remember how and when walls or spikes pop up and insta kill you. That is not action RPG, that's puzzle solving games. Don't make a damn monopoly game if you're gonna include chess into it. who is your target audience. i mean just please. make the game fun for the aimed target audience. www.graffiticreator.net

No feeling quite like crossing one pixel of orange in the trial and 2300 honor melting away in 1.5 seconds.
The honor mechanic in the trial of sekhemas is honestly a "quit game" moment. Even more-so when you consider this is just for the 3rd out of what will be 4 tiers of ascendancy. - The full game's supposed to have an even harder thing after this. And don't get me wrong, I'm not in the "this is so hard, game should be ez" crowd, but the honor mechanic sincerely adds nothing to the game at this point. Not only is it overtuned, but it is also completely hostile to certain builds. Melee anything can go eat rocks, evasion and block will simply not notice they're being hit until SURPRISE, 80% of that bar is gone in a split second because a mob attack finally connected, and it makes it so you have to no-hit-run the bosses, and even before the bosses, you have to completely avoid certain maps. Traps stop being fun when you have a map LOADED with them, and touching any single one of them is going to end my run. - So I have to chose all my advancements in such a way to specifically avoid having to cross paths with trap maps, which means I have to take debuffs and penalties that might debilitate my build, starve myself of water, keys and honor restores when needed, and at that point the bosses are honestly the easy part of the trials. |

Agree. Sanctum and Trialmaster are bottom feed content, now forced into the main stream for no reason. Cause everyone I know in game literally doesn't do either. So they are trying to prove to themselves "oh no this is great content." we will just MAKE them learn to love it.
NO ONE DOES PoE 1 is the best. PoE 2 is something.

Honestly didn't have much of an issue getting through three trials with my Monk. The final boss of the third floor is the only pain point, it feels inconsistent to get her to stop doing her leap. Nevermind having to stand on the edge of the platform that either spawns monsters, a gas cloud, while she's jumping around on you, and if you're not on it 'enough' she just doesn't stop it feels like. The biggest pain is her sand pit slowing things down, but I think dodge rolling like my monk does all the time helps - my warrior struggled hard.
Forth floor feels a bit overtuned right now. Everything about the minions in that area hits like a ton of bricks. But I've only done it a few points and haven't gone back into Sekhema after getting my 4th ascension to really get used to it. |

It KILLS me that I cannot get my 5th/6th points!! Seems WRONG for GGG not to patch this out to be easier or halfway doable!! |
