Game Nearly Unplayable
My friends aren't having any issues like me so i have no idea what's wrong with my
PC and my experience. Trial of Sekhemas is nothing but a pure lag fest and hardly has moments of pure smoothness. I lag and get hit and have no idea what happened. Constant lag to one shots in maps and have no idea what happened. PC performance for some reason for me personally has been god awful. I run a 7800X3D and a 4070 Super and my friends have almost identical PCs with the same processor just AMD GPUs but my PC is getting absolutely wrecked constantly by POE2. Insane CPU usage and temps when just chillin in game. When the game has to render and load packs of monsters it absolutely wrecks my PC but my friends don't have any issues. Just in a 5 hour play session tonight, I had 6 client crashes, a massive amount of lag almost the entire time while playing, and twice while loading into a Tower in the Atlas my PC completely froze up and i had to force shut it down. I have all my graphic settings set to lowest settings, and my frame rate limit set at 144. I love this game so much, but not being able to play it with a PC that should literally be able to run any game maxed out at 1440p and having this many issues is just defeating. If this is a skill issue, then tell me how to git gud. Last bumped on Dec 15, 2024, 2:47:36 PM

" Hey, I can only think of a few attributing factors why your PC is not performing like your friend's PC's. Let me know if any of the items listed apply to your PC:

For me it's because Engine Multithreading is turned off. When it's on, my FPS goes up to 70-80 but when it's off it goes down to the 20's.
Unfortunately however, I have to keep it turned off as it usually crashes my PC in loading screens. |

"You running a 7800X3D & a 4070 or higher? I'm guessing not... probably best to start your own thread and post your full PC specs if you genuinely want help instead of necro'ing someone else's. OP is having bad performance with their game and according to him/her the only difference is NVIDIA vs AMD GPU's with all other components being almost identical. " Hey, sorry to hear this, but maybe some of the info in this thread will be able to shed some light to the issues and help: https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1h7br0d/game_ready_driver_56636_faqdiscussion/ pay close attention to the information provided by poster m_w_h. Obviously skim through the posts by other users, but your issue isn't related to just this game or your PC specifically. the iCue thing is possibly related to the high CPU usage in your specific scenario, but it's hard to be sure since that's a trial and error thing for you to troubleshoot. The crashing and poor performance is likely a combination of the newer NVIDIA drivers with 24H2. While some have had luck with a full wipe of Windows and fresh 24H2 install instead of an upgrade, the best solution atm is installing 23H2 and still sticking with a driver no newer than 561.09. " What about a clean install back to Windows 10? Could that help too? |

PROBLEM SOLVED
GAME RUNS GREAT NOW Full clean install of Windows. Rolled back my PC from Windows 11 24H2 to Windows 10 22H2 Deleted Corsair iCue Software and removed my corsair iCue SATA fan hub from my pc and plugged all fans into the motherboard. Rolled back my Nvidia graphics drivers while booting in safe mode. Removed all overclocking from my CPU in Mobo settings and all overclocking from my GPU with Afterburner. |
