Skill change request - Incendiary shot
Currently Incendiary shot on the mercenary class is a terrible skill. It's way too slow. It's terrible for ad clear. But, I have pushed it too the limit and made it feel okay to use. You need to add Extra bolts loaded, either through double barrel or the Dyad crossbow. But it still feels terrible. Then add all the reload perks of the passive tree, plus either the reload speed skill gem or 2-3 Jewels with crossbow reload speed. Still feels terrible. Add Forking to it, then it feels great with all the changes. The skill starts to feel fun to use, but by then you run out of sockets so you can't really scale the damage much for endgame.
Suggestion, Add 1 extra bolt loaded per reload, and natural forking to the base skill. The reload still sucks but you can buff that with jewels and passives. Then if players want a Dyad crossbow, which really doesn't have much use currently, they can get a 3 round burst Incendiary shot that feels fun to use. Reason for suggested adding of forking to base skill. Currently for ad clear it's terrible, you do okay damage to one enemy, but get swarmed way to quick. Plus natural forking for a dragons breath shotgun style fits the rollplay look and feel for the skill. It also wastes a skill slot just to make the skill the bare minimum to actually use, thus cutting off it's endgame potential. Plus getting the Dyad crossbows in act 2 is the perfect spot roleplay wise for a epic dragons breath shotgun build to start shining. I don't know if the quality of 20% magnitude of ignite is any good yet as I'm poor and struggling to make it through creul act 2, but now that the skill feels right I'll keep trying, unless I give up and just go for a natuarrly strong build. this skill is bugged. ignite chance is calculated as if only 1 fragment hit.
even if you shotgun a mob it still counts as only 1 fragment hit. it seemed to be designed for igniting enemies, so it had low damage. super weak. |
