Defenses DONT MATTER

Whats the point of stack up resistances and defenses capable of running t15+ but yet can still get 1 shotted by a random rare in a t10 map. Can some1 explain how the developers think this is GOOD for the game??? Defenses need to be reworkd and RARE modifiers need to be reviewed over 1million times over... Unacceptable!

Thats Not even they real Problem. They REAL Problem ist that you get extreeeeemly punished for that 1 shot. Map gone, exp gone, loot gone, mods gone.

I found that stacking ehp is most important. I can tank several big hits now at 2.7k hp

I think defenses should matter but never negate true danger from mechanics, just help a bit. Not like almost all arpgs when you casually walk through all the crap on the ground and in the air laughing.

" I do agree that you should never feel 100% safe or immortal but . . . Survivability in maps needs some serious attention though. Normal white and blue mobs are far too dangerous. Id be happy with rares being deadly but getting deleted by a couple of auto attacks by white and blue mobs in a mapping system where you have one portal just feels bad. You cant just relax and play poe2 you need to be locked in when ever you are playing and its tiring. I just want to grind and chill when im just doing casual maps. If im doing a pinnacle boss sure I got to pay 100% attention. My warbringer has like 78/78/78/75 resistances, 64% block with svalin. the node to block all damage from hit and 2650 life. I still die frequently to just random mobs. Maybe it wouldnt be an issue if I could just get 8k plus energy shield and delete all the mobs on my screen from a distance. " Dude, if you have only 64% block chance with svalin, you shouldn't use svalin and get some real defenses. If you talk about he base block chance without svaling calced into it thats something different. But depending on the rolls on svalin you still get partial damage. But your stats in terms of max hit taken aren't anyhow special, block chance is EHP, not max hit taken. Your max resistances are extra max hit, but unless you stack armour and armour applies to ele, your life is low. You have nothing special on your character that would allow you to actually be tanky against massive hits or big hits at all. Combine that with - max resistances, ele weakness curse or penetration and your character has active max hit taken of white or blue enemies. Get yourself 3 mods with damage as extra and your defenses are again, just paper.... You guys need to invest into understanding how defenses work instead, if you cannot fathom what is dangerous and act accordingly or avoid certain modifiers if you don't want to inform yourself how to build actual defenses. And yes 8k ES would easily be better as your defenses, even if it is not even remotely much. People run around with 15k ES... The new disciple of varashta can easily reach these amounts and converts most of ele damage to mana before. You have defenses to avoid damage, not to tank damage.
