Due to Alva favouriting best deals, sometimes exchange happens only partially. The issue is, gold is still taken for full exchange, while it sometimes returns a single item instead of whole stack. While for small trades it's not even noticeable, for big bulks it leads to huge amounts of gold being lost. Kinda annoying thing, considering gold is pretty valuable source for gambling.

They implemented the currency exchange in POE1 and it absolutely refunded you gold when a trade was partially fulfilled and canceled by the game. If you choose to cancel it, then you didn't get the partial refund.
I haven't noticed it functioning any differently here.
But also... gold is so easy to get in the endgame...

It's just annoying as hell that I have to babysit Alva due to her announcing she completed a trade when she actually sold 2 out of 700 items which I now have to take out 20 at a time and start over. Over and over again
