Logbook map rewards
Logbooks feel incredibly underwhelming to the point that I think they might be bugged. I have yet to run a logbook where the total loot is more than a single expedition encounter in a map. I think this comes from a few issues:
1. Logbooks cannot be crafted Maps can. Logbooks lose out on ~40% pack/quant and ~200% IIR compared to maps. I have never had a horde drop more than 2-3 transmutes. 2. Monster density/count feels bugged. In expedition encounters if I hit a group of runic flags I'll get 20-40 monsters spawning from a single explosive. The same grouping in logbooks will spawn 2-3 monsters. I've had several bombs passing through small flags that didn't raise a single monster. 3. Logbooks are not maps, and don't get atlas buffs. I can't say how much logbook difficulty effects rewards as I haven't been lucky enough to get Olroth enough to complete the expedition tree, but as Logbooks aren't maps they are unaffected by the atlas tree and so lose out even more compared to expedition encounters. Overall, a single expedition encounter in maps gives way more rewards than logbooks. Even juicing Logbooks to the high heavens with every remnant you can find won't get you close to the quant/IIR you get from maps. Last bumped on Feb 17, 2025, 5:08:06 AM

Logbook maps have rewards?

Some nods like gems got decent rewards.
In poe2 logbooks are boss invitations you know. Most rewards are boss drop like flask or jewel |

I thought I was very unlucky at first, but after a couple of logbooks I'm sure that's not the case. The loot is by far the worst you can get from a league mechanic up to the point that I consider just leaving the map if the boss doesn't spawn (which he never did, anyway).
It's not a bad mechanic, in fact, I like it a lot but the loot needs to be buffed significantly and while I'm not a fan of splinter collection, this is at least better than waiting until RNGsus finally spawns a boss. |

I agree. Need massive buffs.
Currently people only farm for Olroth encounters I think. |
