Current state of Poe2 and it's issues
You all read what's good about about PoE2
We all know it and I hope you know it GGG. But I feel there is 1 thing stopping PoE2 becoming THE ARPG name like "Elden Ring like" is being put on every game that resembles it. PoE2 is to much like POE1 and for all the bad reasons. PoE1 Is the best Arpg in the world today. You don't get so many player coming back EVERY LEAGUE The only reason why PoE1 isn't being played by millions is because you went overboard on it. Its difficult to get in to, but when you do.. O boy, you never ever look at ARPG's the same way. Almost 1000 hours later says enough. The reason why PoE2 sales are so high is because everyone who played PoE1 is thinking the same thing. I was to late to see what PoE1 was, I'm not making this mistake with PoE2. I'm getting in NOW so I can learn, become a GOD and make my own fun. What makes PoE1 the best ARPG is 1 thing Customization Don't like a mechanic? Remove it Like a game mode? Juice it into oblivion and make so much money you don't know what to do with it. And then Make a new build to do something else!!! The ONLY thing I'm missing in PoE1 is that I can't make my own build. I need I guide to have fun and get to endgame. This is not good. Some might say, I'm a noob, but if that was true, why isn't every diablo player on PoE1? What do I want PoE2 to be? The Skyrim of Arpg's I want to be able to make a build and own everything. At least in the campaign. Endgame is for the elite. The ones that breath Arpg's But I want to be able to at least get midway on my own. Get a tast of what I can become. After that all I need to do is Learn. and guides are perfect for that. But I should know 75%ish of it, not 15% like in PoE1 You are now running a game in Ea This is the time to test. Don't listen to all the PoE1 fanboys. If you don't make the game they like, they'll go back to PoE1. A new league will get them back into PoE1. But if you make it like PoE1 you don't win anything. You'll just divide the current player base of PoE1 over 2 games The campaing in PoE2 is wonderfull. I think we can all agree on that. Sure it has it issue, but those are tweaks. Things that you can fix in EA. You'll have enough people playing the story, time and time again. But you are to fixated on PoE1 and it's values. Yes it's fun to delete a screen of mobs. But are you playing at that point. You are saying you want every player to feel like a god. But in reality only the top 10% is a God. The best story's are not about how Zeus came to earth and made some weird baby. It's about Hercules, a Demi-God that defied the odds and was God like. NOT a God. PoE2 should be a blend of PoE1 and a casual ARPG want to make a build that deletes screens? Fine, you can run Breach and Delirium want to make it more tactical? Play sanctum or ritual for example It all comes back to customization Making a build that can run Delirium should be able to make you money. But to make your build better, you need the rest to. Supply and demand. This brings me to the auction house. You are keeping your leg stiff to keep it as it is, but this is a mistake. If you need an addon to do something and that part of the game is not good. I hate it that I just need to be online to sell anything. Imagine Amazone did the same. Have someone confirm every purchase you make. The way PoE1 does trade is good for PoE1 But if you want to make money, the future is the auction house. don't make it like any other free to play game either. Make it so other games copy your auction house. I know fanboys are saying the way it works now is the best, but it isn't. The way I look at things is: When you have an issue or debate, make is as simple as possible If it still hold water, you got it. The way the auction house or sales are run now are as on craigslist. How is it that it's safer to go to John's house in some shady street to buy something, but buying something form Amazone is not? Why for the love of god do I need to not play and be in game to sell anything. I'm playing and to sell something I have to stop playing? Ergo, I need to stop my fun Anything you say to keep the trade as it is is just stupid. What you are saying is that you don't want to change it. Periode You can make it how you want. Nobody is stopping you. Don't want it so players sell that 1 legendary that is worth 1 chaos now for to less? Block it and give them a message saying; Hey, that item that you put up for 1 chaos is now worth 10chaos. Do you want to change the price or keep it as it is? Don't like it? Make it an option Again, customization!!!! Want to sell stuff the old fashion way? Make a checkbox saying you want to be online when sales happen. You can even make a check box to say you want confirmation to sell something Why are you blocking this??? Are you playing the game your self? Other things that need to go or change -Tower maps (we all run them at tier 1 or as low as possible because they suck - no favorite maps (but when we kill a T16 boss we get the unlock but then again no?) - why must I run 50 maps I hate to run for 1 juices map (not fun) - why must I first run Ritual 100X to then try to kill the boss so Ritual get's better. You had it in PoE1, why change it? - the Pincical boss in the tower is a joke. Either nobody finds the tower, or when they do they can't find the other 3 bosses or the key's. - I just leave Yellow item loot on the ground because why should I bother, it's crap anyway. - Uniques are fun to get, but they are useless (for now) For the item to be unique they sure drop alot. - Trials are so bad you make me want to get the PoE1 trails in PoE2. I hated them in PoE1, but compared to this I would pay to get them in PoE2 - Death in maps. Yes, this is fun. Play with friends and die. So now I can just not play and wait for them to finish the map. you are making the game so I never ever want to play with anyone. Great choice. - Why, if I die in a map, can't I follow my team mate? Now I startup a youtube to pass the time, it would be more fun to be able to follow my team mate and "assist" him with cues. - XP loss is not fun and will never be fun. Make it harder, not more punishable. I don't want to get home, play 4 maps and then loose all XP because map 5 one shotted me out of nowhere. It better to play 5 days, not loose XP and gain a level instead of playing 5 days because I need money to get better to beat the game. - why is there so much effects on screen? I can't see what is going on? Is this what you call fun? Make it so I can hide effect's of others or at least make them less visible. -Burning ground is terrible. I just love it that this feature makes all my poison ingnite and do less damage Nice And also the fire can kill me at max res. - Skill synergy is cool, but you made it that I can't play with my friend. Ice builds make it that there are no corpses. Fire builds destroy poison builds. Curses don't go true walls, but lightning does. Why? Am I not allowed to play with friends unless I make a build that synergises with all other builds? - Killed a delirum boss in a ritual circle. Ran the ritual, killed the boss in it and it did nothing. No extra loot, no extra point. So it's useless. Great. - The campaign is great, but after 2-3 leagues I won't care. I just want to get it over with. Why spend extra time on it? - The minimap or map overview in maps is actually terrible. I have the choice of having a map that is to small in the corner, or a map that takes over my entire screen. You made it so I am actually playing the game but only looking at the map. So why make the game look good, when I can't see it? Make the corner map resizable or have it so I can put my map on my second monitor or something. - I tested controle and it is fun. But why can't I use my mouse to edit skills and so on? Why can't it be hybird? Changing skills on controler is not fun. Just playing with it is good, but managing skills and so,is hell. -Change the Atlas map. This is good for Delve but as it is now. Not fun to have my maps be random. At the end I actually have 1 thing to say. This is PoE2, not PoE1 Learn from what you did wrong in PoE1 and fix it in PoE2. Learn from what you did right in PoE1 and add it to PoE2. Do test is PoE2. You are in EA, now is the time to do it. Have an employee come with something crazy? Add it!! what can go wrong? If it's bad, remove it If it's good, build on it You have 1 Year to make PoE1 be like Diablo2 we all remember fondly. Make it so in 20 year we remember this game but more importantly, are still playing it. This game made me think I could make builds I could not even dream about in any other game. But you made it that some skills are a must or you can not play the game to the end. The power of this game is customisation and imagination. Make this dream come true. You have the power and we will support you. But you must do it now. Cause if you don't fix it in 1 year... All you have is Poe1 And the players who are playing PoE2 now, will come back to PoE1 A few more thing Baldur's Gate 3 was in EA for a year and only showed Act 1. Guess what act is the most beloved in the game. God of war tells the story of a fallen god. A lesser god, but he still kills them all. Dynasty warrior makes me feel more of a god than PoE And to close this off. To all the PoE1 fanboys. If you want PoE2 to be PoE1, go play PoE1 There is no gain in making this game the same as its predecessor. All you are doing is killing PoE1 and switching to PoE2. And guess what happens when PoE2 fails then. Both will die and we will all play Diablo 5 in 2030. Paying 100€ for the game and 25€ every 2 months.
