Problem with Warrior in POE2
Problem with Warrior in POE2:
Hi Exile, I’m presenting my report about the Titan. Level: 90 Playtime: 250 hours ST/DE/IN: 476/7/14 Life: 3320 Regen: 1420 (on holy ground with a wall: 2392) Armour: 20,000 Block: 46 % Resistances: 84 % / 80 % / 80 % / 75 % Content beyond Tier 15+ is nearly unplayable, and I’m not even mentioning some of the mechanics. There’s little fun and a lot of frustration. Armour items: Why do 9 out of 10 crafts on armour items roll mana? I don’t use mana, but it’s almost everywhere. Logically, armour items should grant more life. Maps: I can’t run more than half of the maps. If they have mods like less healing, reduced resistances, attack speed, annoying curses, or extra chaos damage, they’re not worth running at all. Even maps with extra cold damage are borderline impossible. When a map has extra cold damage and I encounter a rare mob with additional extra cold rolls, it’s a problem. If the mob also has a speed mod, you’re simply dead—there’s no chance to react. And situations like this happen all the time. Mechanics: Ritual: It’s literally torture. Breach and Delirium: Extremely inefficient. Time-based mechanics: There are far too many. For example, I couldn’t complete Trial of Sekhema on my own without help, and I didn’t enjoy this mechanic at all. Shield Wall: It’s a great skill, and I enjoy using it, but why do so many attacks go through it? It often fails at the worst possible moments. Gear: I struggled to get my current gear, but it has low item rarity. Over 200 hours, I’ve had only 2 divine orbs drop. If I equip rarity gear, I die even on Tier 13 maps. It’s a vicious cycle. Speed: Speed is everything. My original combo was Leap Slam, Shield Wall, Totem, Infernal Cry, and Sunder. Over time, I had to simplify it, and now I’m lucky if I can even cast Shield Wall. Enemies often kill me before I can set up a wall and attack. I can’t even manage two-button combos anymore. Yes, I’ve invested in speed in the skill tree, and I have it on my gloves and hammer, but it’s still not enough. Rage should grant attack speed, or this option should be available in the skill tree. That’s all for now, but I’m sure I’ll think of more later. The acts were great, but the endgame as a Titan is really not enjoyable. Last bumped on Jan 11, 2025, 7:42:32 PM

" Hello brother, fellow Titan here. Just wanted to contribute. Melee is pretty brutal in general but I hope I can help with some feedback: 1. By two-button combos, do you mean Leap+Boneshatter wombo? 2. If not, it's okay; T15+ is all about speed. There's no time to set up, sadly, like in the slower-paced pre-endgame. 3. It gets even worse if you play multiplayer because stun buildup is really wonky once you get 2man/3man+ party multipliers. 4. I recommend Stampede. Yes, it's cheesy, I know... but I think that if the game is going to spit in your face with how melee-unfriendly it is, SPIT BACK! You can run Fire Infusion in it along with things like Momentum, Martial Tempo, Close Combat so you can clear quickly while being relatively safe; you might want to pre-pot before going in. 5. Recommend 75% block if you can get it on the passive nodes + The Surrender. it's a shield that heals on block passively, no need to Raise Shield. Doesn't cost any Divines, you can grind out your Exalted Orbs or use Currency Exchange NPCs like Alva, etc. 6. You can also run totem builds for Rituals because the totem passives just AOE the monsters down while you stay on the outskirts, more or less safe. We're not Warbringers, so we don't get the cute sea turtle and gorillas, but as Titans we can make use of shockwave totem builds/ancestral totem builds with Armor Break to just cheese the Ritual safely. I know I know... these are cheesy strats and at first it felt bad. But after awhile, I just realized that if the devs are going to spit in our faces as melee, then why not just spit back? Cheese 'em back! The point of Stampede or Totems or even things like Sunder is that it requires no setup; just DPS in exchange for one button press, as you move on. Because as I'm sure you know, painfully so, sitting still as melee is just asking to die and lose 10% XP. Lvl 94 Titan, but am waiting for tomorrow's announcement to decide if I want to continue playing with family and friends. I "tank" for them as best I can, but I know this isn't an MMO with a holy trinity-style class system. Hope this helps and have a great weekend! Oh yeah, Mash's right.
Holy Ground/Descents is bait -I missed that xD It has never saved my life ever. I even tried jumping on teammates to "heal" them. Nope. Still dead. Last edited by obtenebration0113#3459 on Jan 11, 2025, 6:34:27 PM

" Stun buildup is completely broken for multiplayer. This game is designed for single player. The multiplayer scaling and minion interactions with stun, freeze, and shock are proof enough. |

" Yes, it’s Holy Descents, not holy ground. :D I enjoy close combat. My playstyle is to leap into a pack of mobs with Leap Slam, throw up a wall, and use Sunder (Martial Tempo). Most of the time, everything scatters beautifully, and with Vaal Pact active in the skill tree, I can tank decently. But on higher tiers, I’m heavily limited by attack speed. It’s just not enough anymore. And even with increased resistances, my defenses can’t handle badly rolled rare mobs. On top of that, the loot isn’t worth it. I’ll either have to completely rework my build or I don’t know what else to do. The annoying part is that maps keep rolling extra damage mods. This is a huge problem for warriors, while zoom-zoom builds that clear everything in a second don’t care about bad map rolls at all. I’ll wait for the patches; I’m curious to see what changes. Thanks for the tips—I’ll try to figure something out. Have a great weekend and good luck! |

Not really got a lot to contribute to your thread beyond talkking about a few of my personal experiences playing titan to level 78 before rerolling to a Sorc Stormweaver
The speed of abilities are just too slow to clear maps well, the windup time on something like Sunder is long enough that you can get swamped and killed by mobs My sunder did enough damage and AoE to clear an entire screen and then some and one shot all the mobs, but again constantly just getting tagged during the windup. Started playing really hesitant and pre-loading it when I saw mobs appear on the edge of the screen in end-game maps. I'm aware there is other builds with totems and the other ascendency but my experience playing Titan told me it's a great class to DELETE bosses and rares better than nearly any other class I've seen - but it just lacks in map clearing so bad. Playing multiplayer, winding up a Sunder and right before it casts every other class has killed everything on the screen lol. I really loved playing it in the campaign, being able to melt bosses - but once I got to maps the noticable difference in clear speed compared to other classes had my jaw dropping a tiny bit It's just too slow man |

" You as well. I think some smoothing, a little bit of a bone for some defense thrown on our side of the tree. Warrior could be a bit more comfortable. Damage is absolutely fine, skills and their mechanics as well. So all good there. Just a bit of ... positioning I think, more precision and control where our attacks go, more smooth rather than stop and go. A bit more active like monk. The smoothing probably wont happen this patch (lots of animation rework, which is A LOT OF TIME) but I am sure there is something comming tomorrow. Mash the clean
