Died on breach boss. Now i have to farm another 40 breaches just to learn the boss mechanics?

Dark souls lets you replay the boss without punishment and this is how you become better at it.

What GGG does is complete ass.

At least give us 6 chances and start the boss from full health and also have the 10% death penalty for dying.

In PoE you are supposed to watch / read tutorials on external source sites and / or pay someone to carry you through the boss encounter. (only half joking)

Content gated by RNG and long grinds is a forever GGG design decision - since Sacrifice of the Vaal expansion in 2014 and it won't change.

Poe is not a 'souls' game, it's a trade simulator :)

It's a stupid design to only have one life / attempt. I'd much prefer something like a zone-wide debuff that prevents XP gain, item drops, kill credits etc. That way I can at least learn the boss mechanics so I can do it flawless next time.

The lovely game design of "If you want to enjoy something, you got to spoil yourself on every little mechanic before even trying it".

It didn't bother me much but you are completely right, boss encounters need more attempts that's the end of it. There is nothing about it to defend this system.

* players are expected to die to things, possibly multiple times, as part of the learning process.


* it should take a lot of farming to generate an attempt at an endgame boss.


* you only get 1 shot at a boss and if you die you lose that access to it.


* if you die you will be punished by losing 10% xp.




every one of these things i am on board with on paper, in isolation. they all individually sound like good ideas. but i reallly dont think these 4 ideas belong together, i dont think this is a compatible set of principals.
