How will economy reset work in EA?

For PoE1 there's a stable Standard league that your characters get converted to at the end of the league, but I kinda feel like this wouldn't work for PoE2 since the current "standard" is clearly not stable. That's the whole reason we need an economy reset, because we need to put the current version behind us.

However, the econ reset would also clearly need characters to be made from scratch, and they can't really outright delete our old characters without pissing a lot of people off. So, does anyone know how they're going to do this? Do you think they'll actually just keep the current version as a playable standard league, and have the 0.2 version as a new league? Or will they do something else, since that format doesn't feel quite as fitting in EA?

I assume it would be just like in Poe 1. Basically, we get new (different) servers to play on where progress starts from scratch. The new patch will affect everything including EA standard but most people will choose to play on a fresh economy.

These characters will be put into a separate early access standard league.
personally one thing i REALLY hope poe2 does, is void every single league no matter what

this way they can experiment and not be worried about making leagues fun and exciting and powerful with crazy options, crafting, uniques, etc.

just make things super awesome, and its all voided afterwards so the power creep doesn't set in. perfect. period
I never once open any of the bajillion old league characters.

Meta's shift. New system added in. Passive trees reworked every year.

The only thing meaningful to keep is your own game knowledge.
