Generally useful items to farm / buy for Standard?

Hi folks,

Unless the next league is something super interesting, I would likely skip it. In Settlers I managed to get my hands on about 5-6 divs (the most I've ever had in а league so far) and I want to buy a few things that I could use for builds in Standard.

I played with RF in both this and last league. Both characters roughly on the same level. Got to red maps but not quite as good for bosses (I assume, cuz I play quite casually). Should I invest into the RF build? And what would be the most efficient way? But also, I want to build around something different as well, like Cyclone or EA (or something else bow related).

So is there something specific I could get to push any of my characters further or maybe something generally good that would be useful in various different builds?

If you're sticking with RF, maybe investigate 6link elder helm. I'm not sure of the rf meta currently, but its usually a big part of the build if you want to have a second skill, like fire trap.

There's not that much all purpose gear unless your looking at something like mageblood, which is more expensive. You might be able to get some flasks or something, but if your interested in doing more builds, probably just hang on to the currency so its there when you need to buy things.

I've currently got 4 variants of cyclone in my roster, and despite wearing the least gear my hollow palm was the easiest to scale up (joxxer)

My RF may actually make it to 100 eventually - he's still the tankiest one in my roster (that still works) and while the nerfs hurt the damage a lot, he's even more durable than my herald stacker before that got nerfed to hell. (hippocratic_oath)

I also have a chieftan RF variant but he's not really optimized at more of a test. The corpse explosion is definitely more satisfying though. (masterchief)

with the hollow palm, the chest and rings (depending on choices) are really the big ticket items, tho you'll probably need multiple jewels as well. A nicely rolled pride extra impale watcher helps too.

I crafted my RF helmets but if you can find a nice one its worth investing into like the poster above said. I'm not sure what's current but you can see those two in my profile for ideas on possible gearing

Yeah that's a good point. If you know what build archetypes you are likely to play you can narrow it down a bit and get something that would be useful across those builds. If you are playing a lot melee for example a high dps 2H 6 Link weapon maybe.

If you look on POE ninja, on settlers league, it has been running for a long time now, so the data will be starting to get a bit closer to what might be in standard league. Looking on filter by item, you will see 30% of builds using mageblood. It is one of the main all purpose items. In general, builds are so wide spread in POE that you want specific items tailored to the build rather than general purpose. Watchers eye is on 57% of builds, but it has very variable mods. Svalinn is an item that is very useful on a lot of builds, but it doesn't drop in standard currently. 1 DiV vs 200 Div, at least until league merges.

Something that could be useful is an enlightened gem, it is used on a very large amount of builds.

6 Div can go a long way. You can build multiple functioning builds for that if you get good deals on items. Having some currency on hand is useful as well.

Just keep in mind that items in standard cost a TON more, sometimes an order of magnitude more. So once you ID what you want, buy it in league now to carry over later.
