A little idea : The leading pet
Here's the idea : a non playable companion who knows the map and shows the way so you can fully explore it while minimizing backtracking. For those, like me, who get lost in maps and end up making countless round trips, a 'guide' pet would be greatly appreciated.

The best way I found to stop backtracking is by simply using a simple method. Stick to the wall. Follow the edge of the map and clear the middle. Seriously I just want to smash my head on a wall when I see people randomly running like headless chicken in a map.

That's what i do, works quite well on some maps. Even though i know the patterns now, on others, you are forced to do many little backtracks, and it's annoying me. To me, POE2's level design is one of its weaknesses.

Well it's still better than all layout being a perfect circle with no obstacle in the middle XD. I mean yea, it would be nice if we could favorite our map like in PoE1, but a bit of change from time to time is not bad either. But yea, I do agree that they should at least put more density in those obscure dead end.

" its some sort of skill you learn after playing the game. newcomers dont understand that. that said tho backtracking / mazes & u-turns in this game are utterly horrible - not to mention blockages everywhere with or without delirium up. |
