Lost All of my Characters

I have played exclusively on Xbox since the launch of Early Access. However, I am going to start streaming on Twitch and wanted to do that on my PC. So, I linked my Steam and Microsoft accounts on the PoE website. I then tried to load the game on the Steam client and none of my characters were there. Thinking it was just a linking issue, I tried to load the game on my Xbox and now all of my characters are gone there too! I had a hardcore character and several standard characters. Also, on the account screen on the website, I now have 2 different account names. Has anyone experienced this and been able to fix it? I appreciate any assistance to get this straightened out.
