Endgame is incredibly tedious and has many anti-fun designs
I just want to play the character and kill things and get loot and the game gets in my way.
I feel like I'm fighting the game and forced to do chores. At level 95, I'm constantly being held back from playing against level-appropriate content. 1. Juicing up waystones takes a million clicks and it's always the same. Basic currency -> slam exalts -> vaal. Repeat this hundreds of times. God have mercy if you also instill them, the interaction is even worse. There's no thought to the process, it's just mindless, wasted tie doing the same thing over and over. 2. Tower maps are boring and short, I don't even bother using real waystones on them. 3. Having to juice towers at all feels like so much work for so little reward. You take all this time to set up like maybe 3 maps. 4. Whenever I'm not running a max difficulty map it feels bad. t16 waystones are not common enough, like 8-10% on corrupt? So I've got this ridiculous demi-god character that has to run through completely trivial content 90% of the time, where I know I won't get top tier loot except the occasional high currency. 5. Pinnacle bosses are too much of a grind to encounter, you should be able to fight them more often. 6. Citadels aren't common enough, and are also too easy. 7. Arbiter of Ash is a bullshit fight. The fire wind instant kill is not telegraphed well enough to see consistently, and the fire death orbs are often off-screen or so far apart that it's impossible to reach them even with high movement. The only way to consistently not die is to delete the boss before he does anything. 8. Many map types still need more checkpoints. 9. Rare mobs need to show up earlier. They show almost instantly on tiny Crypt maps but take a year to show up on Hidden Grotto? 10. Open maps are under-represented in the distribution. Maps like Steppe are relatively rare, while long linear and corridor maps like Seepage are probably 80% of the maps. 11. Atlas has too many gaps between entire zones that should be accessible without rerouting. 12. Pinnacle zones are boring. The twisted domain forces like 4 minutes of walking with zero challenge. Simulacrums have FIFTEEN waves with a ton of running? I tried one expedition and it was so boring that I haven't even loaded another. 13. Breach splinters. Suggestions: 1. Remove tower maps, just let us place a tablet in without running the map. 2. Instead of dropping waystones, just add difficulty nodes to the atlas tree. Once you are running 15-16s you never want anything below it. 3. Figure some way to auto-juice maps, like let us set some currency to auto-cast on a map node or something. 4. Pinnacle bosses should be accessible more often, even if you lower their drop rates. Up the drop rate on access tokens by a factor of five. 5. Make rare mobs show up on the minimap if you get near them, or show up earlier on the minimap. 6. Rebalance the Atlas to have a better distribution of open map types. Corridors, mazes, and linear maps are good and necessary for variety, but open maps are fun. 7. Connect more nodes in the Atlas to get rid of the gaps or some currency that bridges gaps. " 1. Im fine with that. It does not take that long. 2. Yes i agree. Tower maps should be changed. You either make instant complete or add a reason to actually do them. Maybe add a boss that is a defender of the tower. And that can actually drop some loot. Definitely add league mechanics to them. Or special mechanics that only exist for towers. Then you can add a pinnacle for them and a new path on the Atlas that buffs towers even more. There are many possibilities. 3. Sorry that is not correct. The benefits you get from a tower are massive. Some atlas buffs are working very well together with juicing up maps through Tablets. The actual added Rituals, Expeditions etc. are minor compared to the buffs you give every map in range. This one is very good and increases the Maps drastically. ![]() In general this whole area is good. ![]() In combination with this its even better. ![]() You want to increase the modifiers of the maps as much as possible. This way u reach 200% quantity and 200% rarity on maps. 4. Yes i agree. The loot especially is not rewarding enough. Also in Rituals, Expeditions or delirium. The percentages to get something good in that is way to low. Loot itself feels okay. The issue here is that equipment that drops is mostly useless and identifying it does not feel like its worth it. 5. Breach and simulacrum is fine. Arbiter of ash and crux not so much. They need to be more frequent or a different way to get it. Expedition is fine too. 6. see point 5 7. Yeah i dont liek the telegraphing of that boss. Its managable, but does not feel good. 8. Many maps are shit yes. Mire, Vaal Factory, Augury. And yes they do need more checkpoints, or you simply show icons of rares from the start or u show them once u get in a certain range of them. 9. see Point 8 10. They dont seem to be equally distributed 11. That can be easily fixable. Atlas needs a lot of work but thats fine its work in progress 12. I actually like expeditions. The rewards are jsut so bad, that its not worth running them. And yes the pinnacle zones are boring and the Boss fights are also not very engaging. The labyrinth in crux is cool, but after you seen it once its trivial. |
