New player first impressions

Just bought early access, played for an hour or so as a Hardcore Merc and Im kind of regretting it. Game is slow, clunky and the minute to minute game play is boring. Wouldn't be too bad but after leveling up a bit and adding a few pieces of starting gear it didnt feel like anything had changed and I got the impression that this was going to be a slog.

I'm going to try a few starting classes and see if maybe it was just the mercenary wasn't for me, but my main feedback is "The game needs to be fun to play y'all. Id rather have faster feeling, more responsive characters without all the downtime between actions than these slower ones, even if DPS and challenge stayed he same."

I feel like you can get away with this with kind of gameplay in 3d action games if you're very good because there's more to see, explore and enjoy about the world, but when you do it with an isometric game there isn't enough to keep your attention and you don't build enough of a sense verisimilitude to get me into the combat and so it just feels boring.
