I tested a warrior, here is his story.
Chapter I:
The Call of the VoidIt all begins with a whisper. A dark and ruthless world unfolds before me: Wraeclast, land of exiles and the damned. Driven by insatiable curiosity and memories of my battles in Path of Exile, I dive into Path of Exile 2, unaware that this journey will span over 500 hours. From my very first steps, nostalgia blends with discovery: the game feels familiar, yet every mechanic hides a new layer of depth. At first, I planned to play a ranger, just like in the first game, but instinct led me down a different path. This time, I wanted to be a true warrior—a colossus wielding a gigantic mace, crushing enemies with sheer brute force. No shield, no half-measures. Just me, my weapon, and the promise of imminent carnage. Yet, despite my enthusiasm, doubt crept in: monsters fell, but I felt an eerie lack of power. Far from being an unstoppable titan, I quickly realized that every fight was a struggle for survival. Chapter II: Forging DestinyThe difficulty made itself known far sooner than expected. Path of Exile 2 is not just an extension of the first game; it is a far more demanding and merciless adversary. It felt like reuniting with an old friend I hadn’t seen in three years, only to find them stronger and more unpredictable than ever. Every creature seemed to be testing me, forcing me to rethink my approach. The early areas were manageable, but it was when I faced my first real boss that I understood what lay ahead. I approached with confidence, my mace firmly in hand, ready to crush my foe under a storm of devastating blows. But reality struck hard: my attacks were powerful but slow. My opponent, on the other hand, was swift, relentless, and precise. My potions ran dry, my health bar melted away, and within seconds, I collapsed. A rude awakening. But a warrior does not retreat. I studied its patterns, adjusted my timing, learned to dodge and strike at the right moment. The second attempt was more balanced, the third was close to victory, and on the fourth try, my enemy finally fell. The adrenaline surged: this game grants nothing for free, and that’s exactly what makes it exhilarating. Chapter III: The Thrill of Power and the Descent into HellHours passed, and with them, a thrilling sense of power grew. I optimized my skills, refined my gear, experimented with different gem combinations. My warrior became a wall of muscle and rage, capable of wiping out entire hordes in an instant. But Wraeclast is a cruel land, and overconfidence is a subtle poison. I remember one fight where I felt invincible. Facing an enemy of unprecedented strength, I charged headfirst, certain of my might. Fatal mistake. The ground transformed into a field of deadly traps, my character caught in a spiral of suffering. My potions ran out, my dodges failed, and the defeat was brutal. A quick glance at the timer: fifteen minutes of intense combat… lost in a single misstep. Frustration. Rage. But also, a valuable lesson. Chapter IV: The Awakening of the Exile… and the Great DisillusionmentFinally, after hundreds of hours, a revelation dawned. It’s not victory that matters, but the journey itself. Path of Exile 2 does not reward brute force; it rewards adaptation, patience, and constant learning. My warrior, once slow and vulnerable, had become a calculated war machine—striking at the right moment, dodging with precision, exploiting every weakness in his foes. But something felt off. I had conquered the campaign, pushed my patience to its limits, overcome countless obstacles… and yet, one question haunted me: Why does everyone else seem to progress so much faster than I do? With doubt creeping in, I decided to try another class. A ranger first. Then a mercenary. Within hours, I breezed through content that had taken me days as a warrior. I sliced, dodged, and obliterated everything in my path with unsettling ease. The final boss fight, the one that had cost me so much sweat and tears? A mere formality. That’s when the truth hit me: The warrior was just a bad joke. I thought back to my hundreds of hours, my dozens of deaths, the unfathomable effort I had poured into progressing… only to realize that a single well-placed arrow achieved more than my painstakingly slow, heavy swings. So yes, Path of Exile 2 taught me patience, adaptability, and resilience. But above all, it taught me that a warrior without speed or flexibility is nothing more than a punching bag for mobs. Tldr warrior sucks.
But is good for a distraction when you get tired of blasting mobs with a real character. The power level of warrior is like 2-3 map tiers below other classes. |
