Map Stash access in Atlas

Why do I have to keep entering my stash when I want a new map? I end up keeping 10 maps in my inv for towers/areas so I dont have to visit my stash. Sometimes I need something with a higher % for waystones and I might not have it, now I have to go back to my stash. Whats the point in that? I can put the stash next to me and its still a waste of time.
