RTX 5080 Freezing
I am a user with a 9800X3D and 5080Ti setup. I configured my computer to play *Path of Exile 2*. However, after about an hour of hunting with flashy skills, the game freezes and my computer shuts down. Is this acceptable? I've tried dozens of solutions from online communities, but nothing worked. Please, make the game properly functional and ensure the basics are addressed. Last bumped on Feb 26, 2025, 7:59:45 AM

What's your PSU? Your GPU + CPU will drain over 750w in PoE2, hopefully you have at least a 850w PSU.

It´s getting old... it´s not on the Users End to Fix this!

Well, taking into account that 5080ti does not exist...

" Of course, it's an 850W power supply. I heard Windows 11 might be the issue, so I tried reinstalling Windows 10. It was of no use. |

Yeah I don't know what's the cause at this point, I'm on Windows 10 and the game crashed like 5 times since December, most caused by freshly released patch that got fixed later. The fact that people get daily crashed even on Win10 kinda blows my mind, assumming they checked their hardware.

" I ran the Monster Hunter Wilds benchmark 10 times on ultra settings without any issues. The results were very smooth, with frame rates exceeding 120 FPS. However, in Path of Exile 2 (PoE2), the frame rate drops to as low as 30 FPS, even after lowering most graphic settings. |

PoE2 at 4k plays buttery smooth for me (RTX4080 super, 14700, win11) but:
DirectX 12 is unstable, maybe 2 or 3 CTD an hour Vulkan I don't get crashes but makes the fans run at 100% constantly Changing graphics settings doesn't do anything to help either issue For reference, I can play cyberpunk on ultra at 1440p with the fans barely kicking in |

Feel bad for you. I am on 1660ti and won't upgrade until my laptop dies, because know that on any machines games not optimized.
Only suggestion to watch in youtube who stream POE2 and ask them about your problem, maybe they will help. For example, saw Woolie, kinda run smooth. Probably as streamer he uses 2 5K series videocard, double computers :D You have at least 30 fps, 1660 runs from 90 to 4 fps every 3-5 minutes wihout any action on the screen. Sad sad sad |
