Fog of War bug after a few maps

I am too scared to re-download because with the new game I may experience the crashes again...

There is a temporary fix that can help with this:

1) Fully close Path of Exile

2) Launch a different game* (go at least to the main menu of that game)

3) Fully close that game

4) Relaunch Path of Exile.

This won't restore any currently-missing explored areas, but it prevents it from happening again for a while.

*"a different game" -- you may have to try several to find one that works. Some games are known NOT to work, such as Diablo 4.

I use an old Star Ocean game (PS4 release of a PS2 game). Older games seem to have a higher success rate, anecdotally.
