Towers getting worse -- "Towers have same clear requirements as maps"

That means now we have to DO the whole tower... kill EVERY rare, and whatever else.

So now we can no longer skip them, now we MUST interact with them.

Is it just me, or is that infinitely worse? Because previously I just ran through them ignoring everything I could...

Edit: Just saw the video... so sad...
That horrendous breach position + activation with the video cutting 5 seconds later is also hilarious. In the teaser itself they already "tease" you how useless the new change is.
_____

Ultimately, my opinion is very negative about this change: this means GGG is not taking a step back away from the current tower system, they're actually doubling down on them.
They're signaling that this extremely boring/chore-like endgame loop is not going anywhere, and now it becomes even more tedious and time consuming to go through.

The loop of finding good overlapping towers, clearing them, activating tablets and only then running your juiced waystones is here to stay, and they're actually investing even more resources into it by wasting dev hours into making towers being able to have mechanic and mods.

Being honest, I haven't really played for some 4-6 weeks now and I only had this game installed because "who knows?". But at this point only a miracle teaser update to 0.2.0 will keep me from completely ditching the game.
Campaign is long and boring after your first playthrough
Endgame is completely unfun. I literally enjoy my house chores more than than this endgame loop.

If they still wanna do towers they will continue getting negative feedback, the yt comments, the video has the most dislikes over any other poe2 video for a reason.
They have to wake up and fix map layout towers should be their last priority, playing SAVANAH with low frames and mobs T posing is not oke , being unable to see on maps because of jungle visual trees and other visual qol should still be higher priority.

I have a great idea to make towers even better. fill them with trees, ruins that you get stuck on, and walk ways that look like you can cross but you cant. it will be epic!

They could even make a few of the tower maps look like they are wide open but fill the ground with grey and white mushrooms and only let players pass over the grey mushrooms and make the white mushrooms walls on the floor that cant be moved over.

This is actually hilarious.

This is actually hilarious.

Now all they need to do is add four levers with burning ground under them that starts a timer so you can touch crystals on opposite sides of the area that activates the tower.
I don't like the idea of having a boss on a tower map.

GGG should keep in mind filthy casuals like me who are not good with certain bosses. For example I hate Savannah hyena boss because he can one shot my Warrior.

With regular maps I can chose to avoid bosses I don't like.

If they put a risky boss in the tower maps I wont be able to do them with some builds, making it even harder to sustain maps.
It gets better too, when you consider that towers will now likely be included in the "bad maps" people will want to clear before adding tablets so the effects of said tablets aren't applied to them. For those that do that sort of thing, of course.
Towers (specifically tablets) make the experience very disjointed - the amount off time it takes to set up a good layout is too much, and you end up running half the maps to get all the towers to juice.

The answer to me is to allow tablets to be placed in towers as soon as they appear on the map - running the tower extends the view. It makes towers optional yet still have value. If this doesn't fit thematically, then get rid of tablets entirely and randomly assign mods to the tower as soon as it's revealed, or come up with a better way (hopefully the phrecia event "idols" is the test for something different).

Also, the dead ends in atlas is super frustrating, especially as it can block off access to a citadel, or cause a load of time spent getting to what looks like a good tower layout be wasted because there's no access to the area
