GGG how to make Gemlin less of a jack of all trades and give other classes more versatility.
Hi everyone, after spending about 500h in the game and growing 8 different clasess to over level 80.
What ive seen so far is a huge trend in gemlin legionaire builds. It can be a better Archmage spark int/mana stack. It can be a better Invoker with the attribute stacker. It can be a better minionmancer due to extra level and skillquality, not to mention amount of skills. Now i wish my witch have more slots for more minions. And possibly lot more. Now what do most builds have in comon? Attributes. And the big reason that gemlin is loved is the 2x attribute stats. So lets say a sorceress with 1000 int has 2000 base mana, but a gemlin has 4000. Now we know sorceress has a better spell toolkit, but if we were to max it out to 20k Mana, the base archmage increase is way higher than a sorceresses. Alot of other games have these kind of attribute effect increase. Strengh in warrior give extra life, int on sorc/wizzard give extra mana and so on. My suggestion is to remove this passive for the gemlin legionaire, or maybe swap it for lets say an dex on increase and have other classes get their own version. This way the builds will not all focus on one class, and the other classes can get way better, stack more stats easier, and more fun to build. Now this was my 2 cents. Feel free to rip into me saying i am a noob. Last bumped on Feb 27, 2025, 5:12:09 PM

In order for a Gemling to do "anything a different class can do better", requires a ton of currency invested.
Baseline, if you take a Sorceress/Witch and build them into minions/archmage, you could start it at level 2, and almost SSF your way to a build. Same goes for Invoker or any other class specific build. To do this with Gemling, you have to do a lot of jumping through hoops to get a viable class specific build. Gemling builds are basically mid/late league builds, definitely not something you could league start and do well with. *In the sense of level 2 Gemling leveling with a quarterstaff and expecting it to nuke like a fully fleshed out Pillar build. Also, it's EA, and a lot of weapon variety and classes haven't been added yet, so give it time. |
