Suggestion: Locking XP After Each Bar

I destroyed two PS5 controllers playing this game. There's nothing more 'rewarding' than losing a week's worth of XP to some broken one-shot mechanic... (Arbiter using bombs and fire blast at the same time—literally no safe place left). I get it in Diablo 2, where with a good build you just don’t die that often, but here you're never truly safe, and my grind to level 97 just stopped in the middle.

Play for a few days → lose everything from one death → repeat... I stopped fighting bosses entirely until I'm at the start of a new level (which is really boring).

To fix this, I would change it so XP locks at each bar. That way, you could take on high-risk bosses (like Delirium) much more often, since you'd only lose XP from your current bar. You could grind one bar → take a break for bosses → and repeat.

Only running maps guarantees burnout much faster.

Number of bars can be reduced to implement this.

I just don't want to skip so much content for each whole level.

This has been brought in discussion last week.

It's a really good point, the same for me at level 92.

At the start of level 92 I thought F it, now is the time to try some bosses I'm not confident. After a few trials I'm back running maps, I am at 30% now of level 92 and already I feel discouraged to try something else.

I would run Temple of Chaos for a change, but I am "locked" doing safe maps like you said, or I risk losing my progress.

My suggestion would be instead to have a way to recoup some or all of the lost XP just like in dark souls. Game could spawn a globe/tombstone of some sort in whichever map you're running next.
